4. Todd Grimshaw hides cancer fears from controlling Theo
Todd Grimshaw quietly books a hospital appointment to test for bowel cancer, confiding only in Billy Mayhew. Terrified of the results, he chooses not to tell his partner Theo – believing Theo has too much on his plate already.
But Todd’s secrecy only fuels Theo’s anger. Spotting Todd with Billy and later with George, Theo grows increasingly possessive and controlling. With their relationship already marked by coercion, Todd’s silence could put him in greater danger.

Coronation Street has worked with Galop on the portrayal of abuse in LGBTQ+ relationships, highlighting the impact of coercive control.
