Coronation Street Star Beth Nixon Calls Megan a “Parasite” as She Teases “Vile” Future for Her Character
Coronation Street’s latest arrival, Megan, is already stirring up a storm — and according to actress Beth Nixon, viewers have seen only a glimpse of how dark this storyline will get.
A Chilling New Villain Arrives in Weatherfield
Beth Nixon made her Coronation Street debut this week as Megan, a school coach hiding sinister intentions. The newcomer is at the centre of one of the soap’s most disturbing new plots — grooming 15-year-old Will Driscoll, the son of new Rovers Return owners Ben and Eva Driscoll.
In early episodes, Megan presented herself as a caring mentor, claiming to have rescued Will after finding him sleeping rough in the changing rooms of a sports centre. But moments later, viewers saw her embrace the boy in secret and promise that she was “working on a plan” for them to be together — confirming that she’s manipulating him.
Now, Beth Nixon is pulling back the curtain on her complex, dangerous alter ego.

“She’s Almost Like a Parasite”
Speaking about her first major television role, Beth revealed that while Megan appears confident and nurturing, her charm masks something far darker.
“She’s very calculated. Everything she does is for a reason, but she’s very good at hiding that,” Beth explained. “She’s very insecure, but she hides it. She’s confident and charismatic on the outside — she charms people, she makes them feel sorry for her, she makes them like her.”
“She’s worming her way into this family; she’s almost like a parasite,” the actress continued. “But as an actor, I obviously need to find that humanity in her and make her a rounded character. She’s not just evil — she’s been shaped by her own life experiences that brought her to this point.”

A Tangled Web: Megan, Daniel, and the Driscolls
Megan’s manipulative tactics will escalate as she embeds herself further into Weatherfield. Viewers will soon see her take a teaching job to stay close to Will — and in the process, begin a dangerous flirtation with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).
“Over time, she does develop some kind of feelings for Daniel,” Beth teased. “At first, it’s a cover story — something she tells Will to protect herself — but those emotions start to become real. That makes everything even messier because she can’t leave Will behind without exposing everything.”
Her double life will spiral out of control as Megan begins to manipulate both men — one out of infatuation, the other out of survival.

Lauren Bolton Becomes Suspicious
While the Driscolls remain oblivious, Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) — who has survived grooming herself — will begin to notice the warning signs. Her intuition will set up a tense confrontation between the two women, one that Beth says exposes just how far Megan is willing to go.
“No one suspects anything right now,” Beth revealed. “Eva and Maggie think she’s wonderful for Will. But Lauren knows what to look for. Once Megan realises Lauren is watching, she changes tack — and uses Daniel as her cover. That’s when we see how truly vile she can be. She’ll stop at nothing to survive.”

A Dark Future on the Cobbles
Megan’s story is expected to be one of Coronation Street’s most unsettling in recent years — a slow-burn exploration of manipulation, obsession, and deception. As she tightens her grip on Will’s family, her actions will ripple across Weatherfield, leaving emotional wreckage in her wake.
Beth Nixon summed it up best:
“We’re about to see the layers of who she really is — and it’s not pretty. She will do whatever it takes to come out on top.”
