EastEnders Fans Convinced Sam Mitchell Is Zoe’s Stalker After Return Confirmed
EastEnders has officially confirmed that Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) will return to Walford this Christmas — and fans are already convinced her comeback is tied to Zoe Slater’s mysterious stalker storyline.
Sam Mitchell Returns for Explosive Festive Drama
BBC bosses have announced that Sam Mitchell will make a short but dramatic return to Albert Square next month. Her reappearance comes just as the show ramps up to its high-stakes Christmas episodes, which traditionally feature some of the soap’s most iconic confrontations.

Speaking about her return, Kim Medcalf said:
“It’s such a joy to be asked to come back to EastEnders, especially as it’s the festive period and you know there will always be plenty of fireworks. Sam always causes drama wherever she goes, but she also has that vulnerable side too, which is great to play.”
Executive producer Ben Wadey teased that Sam’s return will collide with Zoe Slater’s (Michelle Ryan) comeback — setting the stage for a reunion two decades in the making.
“With ex-accomplice Zoe back in the Square, only time will tell if there is space for forgiveness between the pair — or whether battle lines will be drawn,” he said.
Reunited After a Deadly Secret
Long-time viewers will remember that Sam and Zoe’s bond was forged in murder. Alongside Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman), they conspired to bring down Dirty Den Watts (Leslie Grantham) in one of EastEnders’ most famous storylines.
When Den attacked Chrissie, Zoe struck him with Pauline Fowler’s doorstop — believing she’d killed him. But it was Chrissie who delivered the fatal blow, with Sam witnessing the act and later blackmailing her way into ownership of the Queen Vic.
Their shared secret — and Sam’s ruthless betrayal — ensures that any reunion between the two women will be tense, emotional, and dangerous.
The Stalker Theory Takes Hold
In recent episodes, Zoe has been at the center of a terrifying stalker plot. From being locked in the barrel store to discovering defaced photos of herself and Kat, she’s been living in constant fear of an unseen enemy.
Fans now believe Sam is behind it all. With her return officially confirmed, social media has exploded with theories that the timing is no coincidence.
One fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
“Theory… what if Zoe’s stalker is Sam Mitchell? #EastEnders.”
Another echoed the suspicion:
“I just know she is Zoe’s stalker! This would be such a perfect twist.”
A third added:
“We’ve heard rumours she’s back and this could be the big reveal. Sam’s revenge arc incoming!”

Could Sam Really Be the Villain?
While some fans argue Sam may be returning for redemption, others think she’s seeking revenge — perhaps believing Zoe betrayed her years ago after the Den Watts fallout.
If true, the storyline could reignite one of EastEnders’ most infamous feuds, mixing nostalgia with nail-biting suspense.
Whether Sam is the mastermind behind Zoe’s torment or a red herring in a larger plot, her return guarantees fireworks — and potentially a deadly Christmas showdown in the Square.
