Coronation Street’s Jude Riordan Shares Heartbreaking Goodbye After Brassic Comes to an End
Coronation Street favourite Jude Riordan has posted a touching message that left fans emotional, after confirming the end of another major chapter in his young but impressive acting career.
Jude, best known for playing Sam Blakeman on Corrie since 2020, reflected on his time in Sky One’s hit comedy Brassic, which recently aired its final-ever episode. His heartfelt tribute has brought a wave of nostalgia and sadness to fans who followed him both on the cobbles and in the chaotic world of Hawley.
Jude Riordan Looks Back on “Good Times”
After Brassic’s seventh and final series wrapped last month, Jude took to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes photos from his years on the show. His snaps included moments with co-stars Michelle Keegan, who played his on-screen mum, and series co-creator Joe Gilgun, who also starred in the comedy.
Alongside the photos, Jude wrote a message filled with humour, warmth, and gratitude:
“I like the funny dog, it’s an owl. Kick him! I can remember every day I did on Brassic. However much fun you can imagine it would be, multiply it by 10. Grew up with the greats. Look how young Joe looks.”
He went on to reminisce about the adventure of filming:
“From sitting at the Liverpool docks running lines with everyone in different accents to many hours driving to France to the best bacon butties, crew dogs and just hanging out with the funniest people. Brassic days were really GOOD TIMES!”

A Rising Star Fans Don’t Want to Lose
Jude’s message quickly drew emotional reactions from fans devastated that Brassic has officially ended:
-
“Best show, best cast. Going to miss them.”
-
“You should have been in the last series, you’re a great actor young man.”
-
“Loved the programme, gutted it’s finished for good.”
At just a teenager, Jude has already built a remarkable portfolio. Since joining Coronation Street, he has earned fan praise and even won Best Newcomer at the NTAs in 2021. His portrayal of Sam — navigating grief, trauma, and complex family relationships — has cemented him as one of the most gifted young actors in British TV.
What’s Next for Jude?
While Brassic may be over, Jude remains a core part of Coronation Street, where Sam continues to feature in major storylines. His emotional depth and natural screen presence promise an even brighter future ahead.
And although fans are sad to see one chapter close, Jude’s heartfelt message makes one thing clear — the memories he made on Brassic will stay with him forever.
