“I Didn’t Know If I’d Last a Day”

Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall has shared a heartfelt update, one year after stepping into the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! jungle. Known to millions as Tyrone Dobbs on the ITV soap, Alan admitted he had no idea how long he would survive in camp when he first arrived in Australia.

Posting a set of photos on Instagram, including shots from the final and a montage of his standout jungle moments, he told fans:

“A year ago today I stepped into the jungle, unsure of what to expect and wondering if I’d even last a day.”

What followed, he says, was beyond anything he imagined.

A Dream Come True

Alan described his jungle experience as “everything I dreamed of and so much more.” He spoke warmly about the trials, the laughter, and the once-in-a-lifetime moments that changed him forever. But above all, he credited the people he met with making the adventure unforgettable:

“I met some of the most incredible souls, the kind who turn even the toughest days into memories you cherish.”

The jungle experience nearly didn’t happen. Alan originally signed up the previous year, but a serious ACL injury forced him to withdraw after surgery. He returned stronger for the 2024 series, ultimately finishing seventh, leaving just before the final. McFly star Danny Jones later went on to win the crown.

New Series, New Memories

As Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly launched the latest I’m A Celeb series on Sunday, November 16, Alan said he can’t wait to watch as a viewer — this time with comfort food rather than basic camp rations:

“Now I can’t wait to watch this season purely as a fan again — this time with crisps and chocolate instead of rice and beans.”

Fans Flood Him With Support

Alan’s anniversary post was quickly met with love from viewers. Comments included:
