For the first time in ITV history, beloved soaps Emmerdale and Coronation Street are officially crossing over in a landmark one-hour special titled Corriedale—and now, we finally know which character pairings could steal the show.

Set to air in January 2026, the special will feature explosive scenes, unexpected interactions, and audience participation. Four Scenes. One Vote. You Decide.

Appearing on This Morning, Emmerdale actors Emma Atkins (Charity Dingle), James Hooton (Sam Dingle), and Nicola Wheeler (Nicola King) confirmed which Corrie legends they’re teaming up with.

🔸 Emma Atkins will star opposite Alison King, who plays Corrie’s iconic Carla Connor.

“There’s a smidge of flirt—but that’s all I can say,” Emma teased.
Nicola added: “It’s more than a smidge!”

🔸 James Hooton will film with Andy Whyment, known as the hilarious Kirk Sutherland.

“A meeting of two brain cells!” James joked. “It’s going to be fascinating. Vote for it!”

🔸 Nicola Wheeler confirmed her pairing with the beloved David Neilson, aka Roy Cropper, in what could be the café owner crossover of the decade.

🔸 Michael Parr, reprising his role as Ross Barton, will share screen time with none other than Kate Ford, who plays the iconic Tracy Barlow.
Fans are already buzzing after Michael hinted on Instagram that the scene is “mouth-watering.”

Audience Voting Opens in January

ITV has confirmed that only one of the four scenes will air in the Corriedale special—and fans will decide which. The vote opens January 1, 2026, and all four scenes are being filmed now.

“Keep an eye on socials,” Sharon Marshall told viewers. “They’ve been listening to what you want to see.”

What to Expect from Corriedale

The episode will blend both soap universes in an action-packed, self-contained hour. Confirmed core characters include Corrie’s DS Lisa Swain and Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle, with more surprise appearances teased.

The special will premiere on ITV, STV, ITVX, and YouTube, and will also kick off the new “soap power hour” schedule:
