Actor Jonathan Howard has confirmed that the consequences of Carl’s selfish actions will soon come crashing down, and several heated confrontations are on the way. “It’s all going to come to fruition,” he teased at the 2025 Inside Soap Awards.

Crossing the Line—With Everyone

Carl didn’t just betray his half-brother Kevin Webster—he exploited him. After shady dealings at the garage, Carl made things even worse by starting an affair with Kevin’s wife, Abi. The fallout tore Kevin and Abi apart.

But Carl didn’t stop there. He later jumped into a fling with James Bailey, pushing the limits of secrecy and betrayal even further. And while some of Carl’s bad behavior has been hidden, the web of lies is now unraveling fast.

Howard warned fans that Carl’s days of getting away with everything are numbered. “His impulsiveness and selfishness is going to catch up with him,” he said. “There are confrontations coming. He’s crossed Kevin’s path—hell’s going to break loose.”

Despite his actions, Howard doesn’t believe Carl is a true villain. Instead, he sees the character as flawed and desperate. “He’s selfish and impulsive,” he explained, “but not evil. He’s not a murderer—he’s just someone who keeps making the wrong decisions.”

Still, those wrong decisions could cost Carl everything. Kevin is already suspicious. Abi, played by Sally Carman, may soon discover Carl’s affair with James—and if she does, her rage could ignite a street-wide scandal.
