Appearing on Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, Meagher flat-out refused to sing a mash-up of UK artist Raye’s song Where the Hell Is My Husband?, declaring it “the rattiest lot of tripe” he’d ever heard. His classic Alf-style mock rage had co-hosts and listeners howling.
Kate Ritchie, who famously portrayed Sally Fletcher for two decades, was quick to distance herself from the prank. “I didn’t know about this, by the way,” she said, stifling laughter.
But Meagher stayed in character. “You’ve stitched me up,” he snapped before warning, tongue firmly in cheek, “You’ll be hearing from my lawyers!”
