Ray Meagher’s Alf-Style Meltdown Leaves Co-Hosts in Stitches – But Hints at Sally Fletcher’s Comeback?

As the 2025 Home and Away finale looms with a deadly train crash, fan-favorite Ray Meagher crashes a radio show in iconic Alf Stewart fashion — and reignites dreams of Sally’s return.

“You’ll Be Hearing From My Lawyers!” — Alf Stewart Rides Again

In a moment of pure Summer Bay gold, Home and Away legend Ray Meagher gave fans a hilarious reminder of why Alf Stewart remains an Aussie TV icon. Appearing on Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, Meagher flat-out refused to sing a mash-up of UK artist Raye’s song Where the Hell Is My Husband?, declaring it “the rattiest lot of tripe” he’d ever heard. His classic Alf-style mock rage had co-hosts and listeners howling.Home and Away star Ray Meagher who plays Alf Stewart answers burning career question | 7NEWS

Kate Ritchie, who famously portrayed Sally Fletcher for two decades, was quick to distance herself from the prank. “I didn’t know about this, by the way,” she said, stifling laughter.

But Meagher stayed in character. “You’ve stitched me up,” he snapped before warning, tongue firmly in cheek, “You’ll be hearing from my lawyers!”

Cue an on-air remix of Raye’s song peppered with Alf’s iconic lines like “flamin’ mongrels!” and “what’s all that racket about?”, leaving the whole studio in stitches — including Meagher himself.

Could Sally Return in 2026? Ray Opens the Door

The banter turned sentimental when talk shifted to a possible Home and Away return for Ritchie’s character, Sally. Co-host Michael “Wippa” Wipfli floated the idea of a 2026 comeback, placing it alongside fan-favorite dreams like the return of Brax and the River Boys.

“You’ve never clearly said no,” Wipfli pointed out, nudging Ritchie.

While she blushed, Meagher leaned into the conversation: “I’ve never been to the producers about a storyline for me, but I’d make an exception in Kate’s case and go and have a yarn to them.”

Could it happen? While Ritchie left the Bay in 2008 and only returned briefly in 2013, Meagher’s endorsement might just get the wheels turning again.

Meagher Teases “Scary” Season Finale as Train Crash Looms

The laughs didn’t last long. Meagher shifted tones when asked about the upcoming Home and Away 2025 finale, describing it as “scary” and “absolutely amazing.”

The high-stakes storyline will feature a catastrophic train derailment with major characters on board — and at least one death. But who will survive?

“There are a lot of key characters involved… Will they all make it out? Will one return? Who knows?” Meagher teased, sending fans into a frenzy of speculation.

Thankfully, Alf won’t be on the doomed train. “He couldn’t make that trip,” Meagher quipped.Home and Away's Stevie gives Alf his 5 minutes of fame

Nostalgia, Chaos, and Cliffhangers Collide

From hilarious Alf outbursts to emotional hints about Sally’s comeback, Ray Meagher once again proves why he’s the heartbeat of Summer Bay. With a terrifying finale on the horizon and beloved characters in jeopardy, fans are bracing for heartbreak — and secretly hoping for redemption.

Could 2026 bring a miracle return for Sally Fletcher? Or will the train crash rewrite Home and Away history forever?
