Christmas is around the corner, but it’s anything but merry in the Dales. As Emmerdale gears up for one of its most explosive storylines in months, Kim Tate’s life is left hanging by a thread — and Sam Dingle is the one who may have pulled the metaphorical trigger.

The drama unfolds when the Dingles’ ongoing money struggles finally push Sam over the edge. After a furious clash with smug boss Joe Tate, Sam quits his job, triggering a crisis that only worsens when Lydia demands he beg for it back.

Joe refuses. And when Lydia tries to plead their case, even Kim — supposedly a close friend — sides with Joe, leaving the Dingles out in the cold.

Humiliated and angry, Sam hatches a reckless plan to make quick cash and get even. He secretly organizes a shady hunting party on the grounds of Home Farm, charging rich guests to fire weapons on Kim’s private land — all without her knowledge.

To buy time, Lydia distracts Kim at the village Christmas fayre, keeping her away from the estate. But trouble brews when Vanessa Woodfield spots Sam’s suspicious activity and tips off Kim. The Home Farm queen doesn’t hesitate. She heads straight back to investigate.
