SHOCKING NEWS!!! Taylor Sheridan’s Unreleased ‘Yellowstone’ Series Wraps Production on Season 2

For reasons unknown, he enjoys analyzing box office receipts, giant sharks, and has become known as the go-to man for all things Bosch, Mission: Impossible and Christopher Nolan in Collider’s news division. Recently, he found himself yeehawing along to the Dutton saga on the Yellowstone Ranch.
He is proficient in sarcasm, wit, Photoshop and working unfeasibly long hours. Amongst his passions sit the likes of the history of the Walt Disney Company, the construction of theme parks, steam trains and binge-watching Gilmore Girls with a coffee that is just hot enough to scald him.
His obsession with the Apple TV+ series Silo is the subject of mockery within the Senior News channel, where his feelings about Taylor Sheridan‘s work are enough to make his fellow writers roll their eyes.
Taylor Sheridan ain’t hanging around when it comes to his latest series. Before audiences have even seen a single episode, Sheridan’s mysterious Yellowstone spin-off The Madison has officially wrapped filming on Season 2. Production on the Michelle Pfeiffer-led series finished up in North Texas just before the holidays, quietly pushing the project further along than most unreleased shows ever get. It’s quite an odd situation for two seasons of a series this big to be filmed without even a confirmed air date, but Sheridan isn’t like other show creators.
Cast member Elle Chapman confirmed the news on Instagram on Saturday, Dec. 20, sharing a story from set with the caption:
“And that’s a wrap on season 2. Heart is full.”
And that short and sweet message marked the end of a second production cycle that mirrors the show’s unusually efficient rollout so far. Although, that said, unlike many “prestige” series these days, Sheridan’s series usually see one season per year in the mold of network television so perhaps we shouldn’t be too surprised by this one. At this point, the takeaway is pretty clear: Paramount (and Sheridan himself) have serious confidence in The Madison. Wrapping two seasons before a single episode airs suggests this isn’t an experimental spin-off.
The official logline for The Madison describes the spin-off as a “heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana”.
Who Stars in ‘The Madison’?
The Madison centers on a wealthy New York family uprooting their lives after tragedy and resettling in rural Montana. Michelle Pfeiffer stars as Stacy Clyburn, the matriarch stricken with grief trying to rebuild, while Matthew Fox appears opposite her as Paul, a self-sufficient outdoorsy type who’s very much the anti-Manhattan stereotype. The series is billed as part of the Yellowstone universe, and was initially referred to as a sequel series — but how exactly it connects remains one of Sheridan’s favorite unsolved mysteries. In September, one of the worst kept secrets around was officially unveiled: Kurt Russell was finally confirmed to be joining the cast.
The cast already includes Danielle Vasinova, Ben Schnetzer(rumored by fans to be this series’ “Rip Wheeler” archetype), Patrick J. Adams, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, and Chapman. Schnetzer plays a rancher; Chapman and Garrett portray Pfeiffer’s daughters — the entitled Paige McIntosh and the dry-witted, newly divorced Abigail Reese. Meanwhile, Adams plays Paige’s investment-banker husband, while Russell’s role is currently undisclosed.
