From parenting her kids to coping with loss, Janelle Brown has shared her family’s story on Sister Wives.

Janelle and her now-ex Kody Brown welcomed children Logan, Madison, Hunter, Gabriel, Savanah and the late Garrison during their relationship. Their journey as parents has been a central narrative on their long-running TLC series Sister Wives.

Janelle joined Kody’s plural marriage as his second of eventually four wives in a January 1993 spiritual ceremony. However, her relationship with Kody dissolved in 2022, along with his relationships with two of his other wives, Meri and Christine. He is still married to his fourth wife, Robyn. Between the four women, Kody has fathered 18 children.

Despite the challenges of plural marriage, Janelle often reflected on its earlier benefits. “A big part of my relationship with Kody has been the fact that he was such an engaged father. He was such a good dad,” she shared during the Season 18 premiere of Sister Wives in 2023. However, tensions grew when Kody became estranged from two of their sons, leading Janelle to admit, “I can’t really be in a full relationship with him if he’s on bad terms with our children.”

In March 2024, their son Garrison died by suicide at the age of 25. Janelle has since leaned on her surviving children and honors her late son often.

Throughout it all, Janelle has remained proud of the values she instilled in her kids, even as they choose different paths from their upbringing.

“None of our children have chosen to live in polygamy. We don’t even have any really that are in the Mormon church, the mainstream [Latter-Day Saints] church,” she told PEOPLE in 2023. “I think polygamy is hard, and I think you really do have to have a religious conviction, and they just don’t.”

Despite her separation from Kody, which was confirmed in December 2022, Janelle remains very active in her children’s lives. Here’s everything to know about Janelle Brown’s children: Logan, Madison, Hunter, Gabriel, Savanah and the late Garrison.

Janelle and Kody welcomed their first child, son Logan, in May 1994.

He began his higher education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and exercise science in 2017. Logan then pursued a master’s in business administration at UNLV’s Lee Business School, graduating in December 2020.

According to his LinkedIn, after serving as a business analyst, Logan became a community development manager at a Nevada-based startup in May 2021, working closely with entrepreneurs to foster growth within local communities. Currently, he is the director for strategic operations at TravelWealth in Las Vegas.

Logan married his longtime girlfriend, Michelle Petty, in an October 2022 ceremony attended by close family members, including his mom, Janelle, and former stepmother, Christine.

“You always have such a sense of peace when your children find amazing life partners,” Janelle wrote in an Instagram post along with photos from their special day.

While Logan used to make appearances on Sister Wives in the early days, he now seemingly stays out of the spotlight.

Janelle and Kody welcomed their older daughter, Madison, on Nov. 3, 1995.

Madison — who goes by Maddie — has openly discussed the complexities of her relationship with Kody, claiming on the podcast The Authentic Society in November 2024 that “[he] doesn’t have any respect for boundaries, and you have to play by his rules, and I just don’t care to do that.”

Maddie got engaged to her now-husband Caleb Brush in September 2015 and the couple got married in June 2016. Their wedding was a family affair, with Maddie’s sisters serving as bridesmaids and her half-sister Truely as the flower girl.

Together, Maddie and Caleb have four children. They welcomed their first child, son Axel, on May 20, 2017, and their first daughter, Evangalynn, was born on Aug. 20, 2019. Maddie and Caleb’s third child, daughter Josephine, was born on Feb. 10, 2023, and their fourth, daughter Emilia Estelle, arrived on March 14, 2025.

When she was born, Evangalynn, who goes by “Evie,” was diagnosed with a rare disorder called fibular aplasia tibial campomelia and oligosyndactyly (FATCO) syndrome, which can lead to bone and limb malformations. In 2020, Maddie revealed that Evie had her foot amputated because of the disorder, but that she was “recovering beautifully.”

In September 2024 alongside her husband and mother, Maddie announced her endeavor into homesteading and farming by launching Taeda Farms. “We’d love to invite you to come along on this wild, messy, and beautiful journey as we build Taeda Farms from the ground up,” the trio wrote in a joint Instagram post.

Maddie said that she was forever changed by her brother Garrison’s death in a May 2025 episode of Sister Wives.

“There’s a few moments in your life that I feel like alter your brain chemistry, and I definitely feel like calling siblings that a sibling had died definitely alters your brain chemistry,” Maddie said.

Hunter Brown, 28

Janelle and Kody welcomed their son Hunter in February 1997.

He attended the United States Air Force Academy, graduating in April 2020. Following his military education, Hunter pursued a master’s degree in nursing at Johns Hopkins University. “Very excited to start my Master’s in nursing with these ladies. Nothing more helpful than spreading love and helping others in the chaotic world we are currently living in!” he posted on Instagram in 2020.

In 2022, Hunter announced he graduated, stating in another post, “Finally finished with my Masters and blessed to say it is from the #1 MSN/MEN program in the US.”

That same year, Hunter briefly moved back to Flagstaff, Ariz., to be closer to his family (who was residing there at the time), with mom Janelle sharing on Instagram, “This mommas heart is bursting ❤️My son Hunter is ‘local-ish’ for the first time in 7 years.”

Garrison — who was born Robert Garrison Brown on April 10, 1998 — was the fourth child of Janelle and Kody.

Tragically, Garrison died by suicide on March 5, 2024, at the age of 25, in his Flagstaff home.

“Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him,” Janelle and Kody shared in a joint Instagram post at the time.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Janelle expressed her shock over the loss of Garrison, stating, “We just had no idea that he was in that place … But he didn’t ever express any kind of extreme sad feelings.” The Brown family held a private service for Garrison on March 9, 2024.

The Nevada National Guard remembered his work as a staff sergeant and what he meant to his family in a tribute post on Facebook.

“Known for his adventurous spirit, Brown traveled extensively, exploring multiple countries and continents,” they wrote. “He had a passion for comedy, amateur craftsmanship, and adventurous photography, with his night sky photography particularly moving those who viewed it.”

During a May 2025 episode of Sister Wives, Janelle said that even though Garrison had never been a “drinking kid,” something had changed in him during the pandemic.

“I don’t know what happened that night he did that because he’s had other nights like this where he would drink and then pass out, and he would go kind of radio silent, but he’d be back in the morning,” she said. “I don’t know. I don’t know what happened this time.”

In a confessional interview in the same episode, Garrison’s sister Maddie said she’d been trying to get him to move in North Carolina, where she and her husband Caleb live.

“We almost had him here too,” Caleb said. “He was almost coming.”

Gabriel Brown, 24

Janelle and Kody welcomed their son Gabriel in October 2001. He was around 9 years old when Sister Wives started filming.

Years later, the COVID-19 pandemic strained Gabe’s relationship with his father. Disagreements over quarantine protocols and relationships led to tensions. During one 2023 episode, Gabe said, “Me and Garrison are at odds with my dad, because when we expressed our discontent at how things were going with COVID, I was met with just a wall. And there was no line of dialogue. I think that that is what really drove the wedge between us.”

The estrangement culminated in a significant incident in 2021 when Kody called Gabe on his 20th birthday but forgot it was his special day.

Gabe later tearfully shared in an episode of the show that, “I didn’t remind him that it was my birthday because I wanted to see if he remembered. And he didn’t.”

Despite the difficulties in Gabe’s relationship with his dad, Janelle continues to show her son support. “Thank you for being the son who is always checking in on his mama, who feels deeply and has the tenderest of hearts,” she wrote on Instagram for Gabe’s 22nd birthday.

Janelle and Kody welcomed their youngest child, daughter Savanah, on Dec. 7, 2004.

She attended high school in Flagstaff and graduated in May 2023. Both Janelle and Kody were present at her graduation ceremony, marking a rare family reunion following their separation.

“Savanah has graduated! My children are all grown up ❤️. Such a beautiful day. There was definitely a difference with this graduation versus others in the past – but all is well,” Janelle captioned an Instagram photo of her daughter in her cap and gown.

Savanah maintains a close bond with her mother, and they both share selfies on social media with each other. In 2022, Janelle gushed over a candid photo of her daughter, writing, “Isn’t Savanah so beautiful ? And she is going to be 18 in about a week! This momma feels old !”
