Sister Wives viewers believe that Kody Brown is apologizing to the wrong people in his life.

Fans on Reddit are responding to a viewer’s post questioning Brown’s approach to his relationships with his children. Many commenters are urging him to apologize directly to his kids rather than focusing on his wives.

Via Instagram, the TLC series is promoting Brown’s apology tour to exes Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown. The next four weeks, he will travel to North Carolina, Nevada, and Utah to apologize to his former wives, says the social media post.

However, longtime viewers believe that while Brown does need to make amends for his past commentary on the reality television series, he needs to go one step further. They believe he must go further than the text and phone calls he claims to have made to his combined 13 children with his exes.

Fans posted their thoughts on the social media sharing site. Many shared strong opinions about how this difficult situation should be handled.

One fan posted, “They may well want Kody to prove to them that he is sorry, is taking responsibility for the estrangements, and regrets his actions. The rifts aren’t going to heal overnight. Kody needs to give his kids time and space and listen to them.”

“And don’t say YOU forgive THEM (supposedly that’s what you said to Gabe). Ask them to forgive YOU. You are the common denominator here,” a second viewer wrote.

A third Sister Wives Redditor claimed, “I don’t think Kody is capable of the upkeep of those relationships. He’d apologize and ghost them. In his mind, he apologized, and the rest is up to them.”

“Until Kody is willing to take accountability for EVERYTHING and be open to the idea that he’s done something he’s not yet been honest about doing – then the apology tour (for exes or kids) is meaningless,” declared a fourth viewer.

Throughout Season 20, Brown appears to be trying to rehabilitate his image after 19 seasons of on-camera chaos within his polygamist family. While it is unclear why he is forging ahead with this narrative, it appears viewers aren’t buying it.
