Coyote Pass might already be sold — but the drama surrounding the infamous property continues
In part one of the Sister Wives One-on-One special, which aired Sunday, Jan. 11, the stars of the TLC series sit down with host Sukanya Krishnan to uncover more details about what actually went down ahead of finally offloading their Flagstaff, Ariz. property.
During the special, Janelle recalls the first offer they got for the property, which she was eager to accept to finally be done with the sale. However, things took a turn when Robyn presented a “confidentiality agreement” she and Kody both wanted Janelle and Meri to sign as co-owners of the land.
“What is so interesting is, the first time around, the first written offer, Kody, Meri and I had completed the title work signatures like within a week. I sent in the checks to the title company so no one would balk about paying for the fees,” she says.

Janelle notes how the contract for the offer was “about to expire” while they were waiting on a signature from Robyn, who seemingly had a different plan in mind.
“Robyn pops up and says, ‘Oh, I’m not going to do it unless you guys sign this confidentiality agreement,’” Janelle recalls.
Explaining Robyn’s agreement further, Janelle says: “Meaning that, you know, Meri couldn’t take any more action for her to get her money back, and that we would all be confidential, like we wouldn’t talk about this agreement.”

Janelle says it felt like a “power play” from Robyn, who had been silent about the offer until that moment.
“So Robyn hadn’t chimed in at all the entire six weeks, and at the very end, she comes with a completed document for us to sign. It felt like a total power play,” Janelle continues, adding that the deal did end up expiring but “thank god” the buyer renewed.

She claims Kody came to her about “talking to Meri” who was going through her lawyer for anything regarding the sale.
The scene cuts to Meri, who then tells her perspective of what happened when Krishnan asks what else Robyn and Kody had put in their “contract.”
“It was all about silencing me. It was all about confidentiality,” Meri says. When Krishnan asks her to elaborate, she continues, “I don’t know. They didn’t want me to talk and I could not figure out why.”
She adds, “So when they say ‘Meri was stopping it, Meri was stopping it’ — damn right I was. Because I’m not going to be silenced again. I will not be silenced anymore.”

Meri then says she doesn’t think Kody liked that she was taking a stand regarding the sale, but she was going to keep “fighting.”
“So he is blaming me and he is saying Meri’s stopping this because I’m not going to sign a contract that tells me to be quiet with no reason. I had no reason to be silenced and I didn’t know why they kept putting that in there.”
The episode comes to a dramatic end as Krishnan asks a solemn-looking Meri: “They wanted you to sign a contract about the sale of Coyote Pass but then add an NDA?”
Meri has previously been candid about the lack of “trust” she felt towards Kody, Robyn and Janelle surrounding Coyote Pass, and how she felt she had to get “lawyers involved” because of it.
She was Kody’s first wife in their once-plural marriage until they announced their separation in December 2022 after 32 years of marriage.
Around the same time, it was revealed that he and Janelle, who was his second wife, had also split. Kody’s third wife, Christine, separated from him in November 2021, He has one remaining wife, Robyn, whom he spiritually married in 2010 and later legally married in 2014.
Christine had a share of Coyote Pass at one point, but she sold it back to Kody in August 2022 after their separation. The land was officially sold for $1.5 million in April 2025 after years of drama, PEOPLE confirmed at the time.
