Coronation Street‘s Debbie Webster confirms her true allegiance tonight amid her brothers’ ongoing feud. But will her blind loyalty to scheming Carl ruin her relationship with Kevin?

After months of manipulation and theft, Debbie finally became aware of Carl’s nasty streak when he tried to frame her for his drunken car crash in the Corriedalecrossover.

Debbie then realised that Carl had been stealing money from her hotel, though she chose to cover for all his crimes. However, it wasn’t just the businesswoman who was onto Carl’s scheme, as Ryan Connor told Kevin about financial discrepancies in the hotel accounts.

In tonight’s episode, Ryan reveals to Debbie that he has evidence of Carl “creaming money off the business accounts”. Carl arrives just in time to talk himself out of trouble and Debbie assures Ryan they will discuss the matter later.

When Ryan leaves, Debbie bluntly asks Carl for the truth, knowing he has previously stolen from her, but he manages to avoid accountability again.

Later, Debbie overhears as Kevin and Ryan discuss the best way to convince her of Carl’s crimes. Kevin pleads his sister not to cover for Carl in court by taking the blame for the crash.

“It’s not about revenge. It’s getting you to open your eyes and see him for what he is. A liar, a thief and probably worse besides. The fella’s a sociopath, and if you think…” Kevin says, before Debbie screams at him to shut up.

Unfortunately for the mechanic, his sister remains firm in her decision to support Carl, regardless of the personal cost. In a heartbreaking scene, she makes it clear to Kevin that Carl will always come first.

“You can try and turn me against him all you like, but don’t force me to choose between you and him because you won’t like the outcome,” she tells him.

Will Debbie ever remove her rose-tinted glasses when it comes to Carl? And is her relationship with Kevin damaged for good?
