‘Y: Marshals’ Teaser Reveals Kayce Dutton’s New Mission in Yellowstone Spin-Off

Kayce Dutton Sets Out on a New Path

Fans of Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe have reason to get excited. Luke Grimes is returning as Kayce Dutton in the upcoming Paramount Network series, Y: Marshals. In the recently released teaser trailer, Kayce declares, “I’m changing paths, trying to find a new beginning”, signaling a dramatic shift from ranch life to law enforcement.

While Paramount has yet to confirm an official release date, speculation points to a midseason drop on CBS, likely arriving in early 2026. The teaser and cast announcements promise a fresh spin on the neo-Western saga, blending the tension of law enforcement with the moral complexities fans have come to expect from the Yellowstone universe.

Kayce Joins an Elite Unit of U.S. Marshals

According to the official logline, Kayce leaves his ranch to join “an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana.” The series promises to explore how Kayce and his team navigate the delicate balance between family, duty, and the psychological toll of their dangerous work.

Returning faces include Kayce’s son, Tate (Brecken Merrill), and Yellowstone favorites Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) and Mo Brings Plenty (himself). However, Kelsey Asbille, who played Kayce’s wife Monica Long-Dutton, has not yet been confirmed. Reports suggest her absence may be addressed in the storyline, leaving fans eager for clarification.
