Emmerdale’s Mike Parr Shares First “Dad” Message in Sweet Tribute to Newborn Daughter Suzie
A New Chapter for the Soap Star
Emmerdale actor Mike Parr, best known as Ross Barton, has shared his first heartfelt message as a new dad after welcoming his daughter Suzie with girlfriend Isabelle Du Plessis.
Parr, 39, took to Instagram six days after Suzie’s birth to pen an emotional tribute, declaring, “I absolutely adore you.”
From Soap Villain to Proud Father
Parr first joined Emmerdale in 2013 as Ross Barton, initially appearing in a carjacking scene with Laurel Thomas before becoming a series regular. After leaving in 2018, he returned in 2024 with a dramatic comeback in an unlicensed boxing match with Billy Fletcher.
Since then, his performance has earned him a nomination for Best Comic Performance at the 2025 Inside Soap Awards.
But off-screen, Parr has been celebrating a new role — fatherhood.
A Sweet “Day 6” Tribute
Sharing a black-and-white photo of himself carrying baby Suzie in a sling, Parr wrote a moving message about the life-changing experience of becoming a dad:
“Dear Suzie, the last 6 days with you have been better than all my years on this planet combined. Life before you seems so meaningless. You have changed what the word love means to me. I’m not sure I understood it before I held you.”
He promised to protect and cherish his daughter every day:
“There’s not a day that will go by when I don’t tell you and show you how much you mean to me. I’ll leave no stone unturned in making sure you always feel safe, supported, and loved. I absolutely adore you. Thank you for making us so happy. Love, Dad x.”

Love From the Emmerdale Family
The actor’s co-stars were quick to share their congratulations. Beth Cordingly praised Parr, writing, “Thrilled for you both, sending tonnes of love. You’ll be an amazing dad. Lucky Suzie.”
Lisa Riley added: “So much love and congratulations to you all… could not be happier for you.”
And Kelvin Fletcher penned: “Congratulations lad. What a journey you’ve begun.”
Final Thoughts
Mike Parr may have played one of Emmerdale’s most complex characters, but off-screen, he’s embracing the role of dad with open arms. With Suzie now the center of his world, Parr’s heartfelt words prove this is his greatest storyline yet.
