Emmerdale’s Kim Tate Makes a Big Decision as Vinny’s Secret Deal Looms
Vinny and Gabby’s Fragile New Beginning
Next week on Emmerdale, Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) and Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) are supposed to be settling into newlywed bliss. Despite Vinny’s fears over testifying in court against his attacker, Mike (Macauley Cooper), and Gabby’s own guilty secret of infidelity, the pair manage to walk down the aisle.
Gabby wastes no time pressing ahead with her next move: having Vinny adopt her son, Thomas. But standing in her way is a formidable force — Thomas’s grandmother, Kim Tate (Claire King).
Kim Stands Her Ground
Gabby’s fraught history with Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln), Thomas’s father, has long cast a shadow over her life. After their one-night stand, Jamie rejected both Gabby and their child, later spiraling into schemes against his own mother. In true Tate fashion, Jamie faked his death — leaving Kim furious and estranged.
Now, Kim fears that allowing Vinny to adopt Thomas will erase Jamie from her grandson’s life entirely. The “Queen of Mean” initially refuses outright, determined to preserve her son’s connection.
A Surprising Change of Heart
It takes Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) and Vinny himself to thaw Kim’s icy resolve. They argue that Thomas deserves a full-time father figure and that Vinny has already proven his loyalty. Against expectation, Kim’s heart softens. She grants her blessing for the adoption — a rare concession from the Tate matriarch.
Mike’s Blackmail Threat
But the happiness doesn’t last. Just as Vinny and Gabby celebrate Kim’s approval, Mike reappears in the village, demanding more money for his silence. Vinny, desperate to protect Gabby, offers Mike a deal: he’ll deliberately sabotage the court case to secure Mike’s freedom — if Mike keeps quiet.
What Mike doesn’t know is that Vinny has no intention of letting him walk free. His true plan is to make sure Mike pays for his crimes once and for all.
Trouble on the Horizon
With the court case looming, Gabby begins to sense something is wrong. Her suspicions grow, threatening to unravel Vinny’s secret scheme. If the truth comes out, Kim’s reluctant blessing may prove meaningless, and Gabby could once again see her world turned upside down.
