EastEnders favourite Thomas Law has hinted that Peter Beale may not be done with Max Branning just yet. With Jake Wood confirmed to reprise his role as Max, fans are bracing for drama — and Thomas believes their complicated history is far from over.
Speaking at the National Television Awards, Thomas told the Daily Star: “I don’t know if Peter will ever see Max again, but there will be unfinished business there if he does.”
Given Max’s fiery past with the Beales, including bitter family clashes and tangled romances, his return could reopen old wounds and spark new rivalries.
The Beales at the Heart of the Drama
Thomas also opened up about the Beales’ growing importance in upcoming storylines, particularly with Peter and Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) adjusting to life back in Walford. Fans have loved seeing the pair reunited, and their on-screen chemistry is stronger than ever.
“Ah she’s special,” Thomas said warmly of working with Jacqueline again. “It’s nice being back in the show. It’s much faster pace than anything I’ve ever worked on. I would say EastEnders is my favourite job.”

“Peter’s time in the soap, it’s going to be quite interesting,” he teased. “Obviously we have baby Jimmy, who is blind, and there are a lot of difficulties with having a child that is blind.”
