Behind the Scenes of Cash and Eden’s Home and Away Wedding: “We Shot This in the Rain for You”

Summer Bay has seen its share of heartbreak and drama, but nothing brings more joy to fans — or the cast — than a wedding. This week, viewers watched Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) and Eden Fowler (Stephanie Panozzo) exchange vows in a stunning garden ceremony that had everyone dressed in their finest. But behind the beautiful scenes was a far less glamorous reality: pouring rain.

A Wedding Day in the Rain

Before the episode aired, Home and Away teased fans with a sneak peek of the venue, Wallawong House in NSW’s Hunter Valley. In the video, Stephanie joked, “Welcome to Eden and Cash’s wedding. It’s raining. I’ve got to get inside because of my hair. I hope you enjoy the episode.”

When the big day finally aired, Nicholas shared on Instagram just how tough the shoot had been. “We shot tonight’s episode in the rain for you. We hope you love it. It is a testament to our crew and the amount of time we all spend working together. It would have been an achievement to shoot this in perfect weather,” he wrote.

The actor praised director Ian Watson for keeping everything on track despite the weather. He ended with a cheeky tease: “Also someone dies.”

Cast Laughter and Dance Breaks

While the rain made filming difficult, it didn’t dampen spirits. Between takes, Stephanie and Tammy MacIntosh lightened the mood by dancing on set. Ada Nicodemou, who plays Leah, also shared her perspective from the wedding guest list.

“Always the bride, never the… guest,” she joked on Instagram, noting her character’s long history of walking down the aisle.

Ada also grabbed her co-stars for quick interviews, asking if they were enjoying the day. Nicholas quipped: “We’re loving it. We had to really fight hard for this because usually it’s one wedding per year for Ada in the show, so to get another character’s wedding was difficult.”

A Joyful Episode With a Dark Twist

The episode may have looked picture-perfect, but fans now know it was born out of determination, teamwork, and a willingness to embrace the chaos of an unexpected downpour. While Eden and Cash’s vows brought smiles, Nicholas’s cryptic “someone dies” tease promises that wedding bliss won’t last long in Summer Bay.
