Channique Breaks Her Silence

Following the announcement, Channique addressed her exit directly on Instagram. She reflected on her time in the role, writing:

“After three whirlwind years of Dee-Dee Bailey, I’ve decided to say farewell to the cobbles. Bittersweet to be saying goodbye, but I am so excited for pastures new and enjoying the end of playing Princess Diana and her many expressions.”

Sharing screenshots of Dee-Dee’s most dramatic moments, the actress was met with love and praise from co-stars and fans alike. Dee-Dee’s Turbulent Journey

Dee-Dee’s storylines have been some of Corrie’s darkest in recent years. Her relationship with Joel Deering spiralled into tragedy after he was exposed for grooming Lauren Bolton, leaving Lauren traumatised and Joel dead after a shocking confrontation.

Dee-Dee’s grief was compounded by discovering she was pregnant with Joel’s child. Unable to bond with baby Laila, she chose for her brother James to adopt the child, later agreeing to co-parent.

More recently, Dee-Dee has found a glimmer of happiness with newcomer Ollie (Raphael Akuwudike). But suspicions are already circling after his unsettling interest in Toyah Habeeb’s backstory. Could Ollie be the reason Dee-Dee decides to leave Weatherfield for good?
