Coronation Street fans were left stunned after news broke that Channique Sterling-Brown, who has played Dee-Dee Bailey since 2022, is set to leave the soap. “After three whirlwind years of Dee-Dee Bailey, I’ve decided to say farewell to the cobbles. Bittersweet to be saying goodbye, but I am so excited for pastures new and enjoying the end of playing Princess Diana and her many expressions.”

Sharing screenshots of Dee-Dee’s most dramatic moments, the actress was met with love and praise from co-stars and fans alike. Samia Longchambon and Michelle Hardwick shared heartfelt support, while Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies sent his best wishes, sparking speculation that Channique could be lined up for a role in the BBC sci-fi hit.

Dee-Dee’s Turbulent Journey

Dee-Dee’s storylines have been some of Corrie’s darkest in recent years. Her relationship with Joel Deering spiralled into tragedy after he was exposed for grooming Lauren Bolton, leaving Lauren traumatised and Joel dead after a shocking confrontation.
