Coronation Street’s Vicky Myers Promises “Lots of Twists” Ahead as She Addresses Swarla’s Future
Trouble and Tension on the Cobbles
Coronation Street fans have been glued to their screens as the shocking return of Becky Swain continues to send emotional shockwaves through Weatherfield. Once presumed dead, Becky’s dramatic comeback turned the life of her wife Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) upside down — and left Lisa’s fiancée Carla Connor (Alison King) reeling.
Now, actress Vicky Myers has teased that the love triangle at the heart of Coronation Street’s “Swarla” storyline is far from over. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Myers hinted that what’s coming next will leave viewers stunned.
“Lots of Twists and Turns” to Come
“There will be lots of twists and turns as this story progresses,” Myers confirmed. “Not solely in the police station, but also in the relationship dynamic and with the whole family.”
While she stayed tight-lipped about specific plot points, Myers teased that the fallout from Becky’s return will ripple through the show for weeks to come. “There are things that happened that if you throw stones at them, it gets that ripple effect, doesn’t it? We’ll have to wait and see.”
The Fallout from Becky’s Shocking Return
Fans will recall that Lisa believed her wife Becky had died four years earlier while serving in the line of duty. But Becky’s recent reappearance — revealing she’d been alive and in hiding — shattered the fragile peace Lisa had built with Carla.
Although recent episodes showed Lisa and Carla trying to rebuild their bond, their relationship remains strained. As Lisa processes the shock of Becky’s survival, guilt, confusion, and loyalty collide. “From Lisa’s perspective, when somebody passes away in horrendous circumstances, there’s guilt and regret attached,” Myers explained. “Then suddenly that person comes back — her emotions are all over the shop.”
On-Set Secrets and Behind-the-Scenes Energy
Myers couldn’t hide her enthusiasm for the work behind this storyline. “Everybody has been working really hard — the writers, the directors — and we get to bring to life lots of different stories. All of us working together so closely for extended periods, it’s brilliant,” she said.
As for whether Lisa and Carla can coexist with Becky back in the picture, Myers kept her answer cryptic: “It’s difficult and it would certainly make for interesting conversation.”
“Whatever Happens, It’s Great TV”
While some fans have expressed frustration over the heartbreak and chaos surrounding Swarla, Myers believes that’s exactly what makes soaps so compelling. “Whatever happens, it’s great TV,” she laughed. “Some fans aren’t very happy about it — but I guess that’s soap life at the moment.”
The Cobbles Are About to Get Messier
As emotions spiral and loyalties are tested, Lisa faces an impossible choice between her past and her future. With Myers promising more “twists and turns,” Coronation Street viewers should brace for impact — because the drama in Weatherfield is just heating up.
