Emmerdale Star Jaye Griffiths Warns Celia’s Dark Side Is About to Get Even Worse

“You Haven’t Seen Anything Yet,” Teases Jaye Griffiths

Emmerdale star Jaye Griffiths has dropped a chilling hint about what’s next for her character Celia Daniels, confirming that the calculating farmer’s sinister streak is only just beginning.

Appearing on Loose Women, the actress revealed that viewers who thought Celia’s recent actions were shocking should brace themselves — because “she’s about to get worse.”

Fans already know Celia as the cold and commanding mastermind behind the Dales’ growing drug network, a storyline that’s left teenager April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) in danger and the village on edge. But Griffiths teased that her character’s next moves will leave audiences stunned.Emmerdale fans figure out Celia's harrowing link to Moira Dingle after huge twist - Manchester Evening News

From Feisty Farmer to Criminal Queenpin

Since arriving in the village earlier this year, Celia quickly proved she’s not one to be underestimated. Her first weeks were marked by clashes — first with Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) after a dog on her land attacked the vet, and later with Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb), who refused to rent her farmland.

However, Celia’s sharp instincts soon earned her new allies — and revealed her true power. Viewers were stunned to learn she was the secret boss of local dealer Ray Walters (Joe Absolom), the same man who had been manipulating April and Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) into selling drugs.

The shocking reveal came when Celia slapped April during a heated hospital confrontation and coldly declared herself Ray’s adoptive mother and crime boss.Emmerdale star warns 'worst is to come' as massive Celia twist looms | Soaps | Metro News

Jaye Griffiths on Celia’s Ruthlessness

During her Loose Women interview, Griffiths admitted she’s loving every minute of playing such a ruthless character.

“She’s going to get worse,” Jaye teased with a grin. “People liked Celia when she first arrived — she’s confident, blunt, funny in her own way. But the second she slapped April, everything changed. And honestly, I love that. Celia’s not empathetic at all — and it’s liberating to play someone like that.”

She also reflected on her chemistry test with Dominic Brunt, revealing that their first improvised scene together lasted four and a half minutes. “He made me feel so welcome,” she said. “He gave up his lunch hour, learned everything, and never once showed frustration. He’s a brilliant scene partner.”Emmerdale star reacts to huge twist as ITV soap reveals who Celia is working with

What’s Next for Celia?

As Celia tightens her grip on April — and begins manipulating Bob Hope for her own gain — fans are speculating that the storyline could soon take an even darker turn.

Jaye’s final tease? “Let’s just say… Celia’s got a few surprises left. She’s not done yet.”
