Coronation Street Reveals First Details of Eva Price’s ‘Emotional’ Return with New Family

Eva Price Is Back on the Cobbles

After seven years away, Catherine Tyldesley is making an emotional comeback to Coronation Street as Eva Price—and this time, she’s not returning alone. Eva will arrive back in Weatherfield as the new landlady of the Rovers Return, following Jenny Connor’s departure and Carla Connor’s decision to reclaim her share of the pub.

Eva, who left the Street in 2018 to start a new life in France with her daughter Susie, will return with her new partner Ben Driscoll (played by Aaron McCusker) and his mother Maggie (Pauline McLynn), along with their blended family. ITV bosses tease that the Price-Driscolls are coming “with a bang and a suitcase full of secrets.”

A New Era for the Rovers

Corrie producer Kate Brooks described Eva’s homecoming as “emotional and full of warmth,” confirming that the Rovers will once again become the heart of the community.

“The episode made me really emotional watching it,” Brooks said. “There’s just so much joy, energy, and love in that room. The Rovers works best when there’s a big family at its core—one that loves and protects each other fiercely. And that’s exactly what Eva and her family bring.”

With Ben’s easy charm, Maggie’s fiery interference, and Eva’s trademark mix of glamour and grit, the new household promises classic Corrie drama—with plenty of humour to balance the heartache.Father Ted star Pauline McLynn joins Coronation Street

A Family with Fire and Loyalty

Brooks explained that the returning character brings a sense of “community spirit” the show wanted to reignite. “Eva’s got links with Leanne and Toyah, and she embodies that quintessential Coronation Street energy,” she said. “It felt like the right time to bring her back with a family who will both love and challenge her.”

As for the new arrivals, Maggie is already shaping up to be a standout. “She clashes with Eva on a daily—no, hourly—basis,” Brooks laughed. “It’s hilarious to watch. Pauline, Aaron, and Cath are all such gifted actors, and together they’re a breath of fresh air.”Coronation Street casts EastEnders star as six characters descend on The Rovers

The Price-Driscoll clan will quickly become central to life on the Street. Brooks confirmed they’re “super busy” with upcoming stories, promising laughter, love, and inevitable chaos inside the Rovers. “They’ve arrived with a bang,” she teased. “They feel so authentically Coronation Street—and viewers will instantly fall in love with them.”
