Emmerdale newcomer Kammy Hadiq has quickly become one of the village’s most intriguing characters — charming, cheeky, and full of mystery. But according to actor Shebz Miah, fans have only seen the surface of who Kammy really is, with long-buried secrets and painful truths soon to come to light.
From Joyrides to Genuine Bonds
Kammy Hadiq arrived in Emmerdale back in March, instantly catching the eye of Sarah Sugden as the two bonded over thrill-seeking joyrides. But what began as a rebellious friendship soon revealed a more complex side to Kammy.
When Sarah locked Rodney Blackstock in a van during a theft attempt, Kammy made it clear he disapproved, showing that beneath the bravado lies a strong moral code. Later, his unlikely friendship with Vinny Dingle gave fans another glimpse of his softer, empathetic nature — especially when Vinny made an impulsive pass at him.

“Belle and Kammy bring out different sides of each other,” Shebz revealed. “She brings out his innocence and vulnerability, while he brings out her playfulness. It’s very yin and yang. There’s loyalty, chemistry, and heart — but also conflict and temptation.”
He added that both characters are “at a crossroads,” unsure if they should follow their hearts or their heads. Their connection, though sweet, could easily become complicated as emotions deepen and Kammy’s mysterious past begins to surface.

Despite months on screen, viewers still know very little about Kammy’s background — and that’s about to change. Shebz confirmed that the show is preparing to reveal major details about Kammy’s past, explaining that his fun, carefree personality hides something much deeper.
“With Kammy there are a lot of secrets,” he said. “There will be moments of vulnerability where the mask may slip — or not. He’s this fun, vibrant, cheeky bad boy, but there’s a reason he behaves the way he does.
“All we’ve seen so far are his interactions in the village. We still don’t know where he’s come from or why he’s even there. That’s all been kept deliberately hidden for now.”
The actor hinted that viewers will soon discover multiple sides to Kammy, with revelations that will surprise even his closest friends. “He’s got so many loyalties and fears and connections that will shock people,” Shebz teased. “Expect mischief, drama, and vulnerability — moments where you finally see the man underneath the mask.”
