Emmerdale’s Gabby Thomas Replaced by Two Characters After Shock Split from Vinny Dingle
A New Era Begins at Dale View
Emmerdale fans are in for another shake-up following the dramatic collapse of Gabby Thomas and Vinny Dingle’s short-lived marriage. In Friday’s (October 24) early-release episode, now streaming on ITVX and YouTube, the fallout from their split takes a surprising turn as Vinny gains two unexpected new housemates — and it’s all thanks to Kim Tate.
After Gabby walked out on Vinny and moved back to Home Farm with her young son Thomas, the Dingle favourite was left rattling around the house alone. But Kim, never one to leave things stagnant, decides it’s time for a change.
Kim Tate’s Plan in Motion
Meeting Vinny at the café, Kim points out how quiet Dale View must feel without Gabby and Thomas around. Though Vinny insists he can handle both the loneliness and the rent, Kim has already taken matters into her own hands.
Without waiting for Vinny’s approval, she reveals that she’s been advertising for new tenants. Enter Lewis Barton and his brother Ross — who just happen to be nearby when Kim mentions the vacancy.
Seizing the opportunity, the Barton brothers suggest moving in, and by the end of the day, the pair have already made themselves at home.

Gabby’s Shock and Jealousy
Gabby’s reaction is anything but calm when she discovers the new living arrangement. Spotting Vinny, Lewis, and Ross enjoying drinks together at The Woolpack, she fumes over how quickly she’s been replaced.
Complaining to Kim, Gabby snaps: “I don’t want him out just laughing, drinking, and happy!”
Her protest makes it clear that she’s still struggling with unresolved feelings about her split from Vinny — and perhaps isn’t quite ready to see him move on so easily.

A New Dynamic for Vinny and Lewis
The new setup is already fuelling fan speculation online, with many viewers convinced that the friendship between Vinny and Lewis could evolve into something deeper.
Lewis, portrayed by Heartstopper star Bradley Riches, has quickly become a source of support for Vinny as he continues to explore his sexuality. Speaking at the Inside Soap Awards, Riches hinted that their bond would grow in meaningful ways:
“It’s having someone from the queer community helping him and saying, ‘It’s not weird to think these things. Everyone’s story is different.’ It’s exciting to see that conversation and how a new friendship might blossom.”
When asked if romance could be on the cards, Riches teased: “Who knows? Only time will tell. Every good relationship is based on friendship — and that’s a good starting point.”
What’s Next for Gabby and Vinny?
With Gabby’s jealousy bubbling and Vinny’s new life beginning to take shape, Emmerdale looks set for emotional turbulence in the weeks ahead. Can Kim and Dawn Fletcher help Gabby move on, or will her lingering feelings for Vinny spark new conflict at Home Farm?
And as for Vinny — could Lewis Barton be the person who finally helps him find peace, and maybe even love, after all the heartbreak?
