Emmerdale Star Shebz Miah Teases Big Secrets as Kammy Hadiq’s Hidden Past Comes to Light
Emmerdale actor Shebz Miah has hinted that his character, Kammy Hadiq, is about to face a major turning point — one that will finally peel back the layers of mystery surrounding his past. Since arriving in the village earlier this year, Kammy has gone from reckless newcomer to loyal friend and unexpected love interest. But, as Miah reveals, viewers have only scratched the surface of who Kammy really is.
From Joyrides to Loyalty
When Kammy first appeared in Emmerdale back in March, he entered with a bang — quite literally. Introduced as Sarah Sugden’s (Katie Hill) thrill-seeking new companion, Kammy’s early storylines revolved around joyriding and mischief. But it wasn’t long before audiences saw there was more to him than rebellious charm.
After Sarah’s risky stunt involving Rodney Blackstock’s van, Kammy proved he wasn’t just another troublemaker, calling her out for crossing the line. It was a rare glimpse of maturity — and a hint that Kammy’s experiences have made him more grounded than he lets on.

The Friendship That Changed Everything
Fans soon got to see Kammy’s softer side through his growing friendship with Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson). The two bonded quickly, but when Vinny, overwhelmed by his own confusion, impulsively kissed Kammy, the moment could have shattered their connection. Instead, Kammy handled it with empathy and understanding, choosing to keep Vinny’s secret and offer quiet support rather than judgment.
Speaking to Metro, Shebz explained, “There’s almost a brotherly bond between Kammy and Vinny. Kammy is fiercely loyal when he trusts someone, and Vinny has earned that. He’s an empath — he feels deeply and puts himself in other people’s shoes.”
That loyalty, however, comes from somewhere much deeper — a history Kammy hasn’t shared yet.
New Romance, New Complications
Away from his friendship with Vinny, Kammy’s blossoming romance with Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) has surprised fans. After surviving an abusive relationship with Tom King, Belle has been cautious about love — yet Kammy has brought lightness and fun back into her life.
“Belle brings out Kammy’s softer, more vulnerable side,” Shebz shared. “There’s chemistry, but there’s also confusion. It’s that push-and-pull between head and heart. They’re trying to be sensible, but their feelings are real and messy.”
Despite their connection, the couple’s journey won’t be smooth sailing. Both carry emotional scars, and as Kammy’s mysterious past resurfaces, it may test their relationship in unexpected ways.
The Secrets Behind the Smile
While Kammy’s easygoing nature and charm have made him a fan favourite, Miah warns that there’s a lot about the character that viewers don’t yet know.
“With Kammy, there are a lot of secrets,” he teased. “We’ve only seen the fun, cheeky, loyal side of him. But people don’t act that way without reason. We haven’t explored where he’s come from or why he’s really in the village — all of that’s still to come.”
He added that upcoming episodes will reveal “moments of vulnerability where the mask slips” — giving fans a glimpse of the man behind the bravado.
What’s Next for Kammy?
According to Miah, the coming months will explore the emotional truth behind Kammy’s behaviour, exposing “multiple sides” to the character that will surprise even longtime Emmerdale viewers.
“There’s mischief, there’s drama, but also a lot of heart,” he explained. “Kammy’s past will explain everything — his loyalty, his fears, his connections. Fans are going to see a completely different layer of him.”
With Kammy now caught between new love, deep loyalty, and the ghosts of his past, Emmerdale is gearing up for a series of explosive revelations that could change the village’s dynamics forever.
As Shebz Miah puts it best: “We’ve only just scratched the surface.”
