Home and Away Spoilers: Tane Disappears with Baby Archie as Harper Faces Every Parent’s Worst Fear

Emotions run high in Home and Away this week as a desperate Tane Parata (Ethan Browne) takes baby Archie and vanishes from Summer Bay, leaving Harper Matheson (Jessica Redmayne) terrified for her son’s safety.

The shocking storyline unfolds as Harper returns home from a tense reunion with her estranged mother, Kerrie (Sara Wiseman), only to find her relationship with Tane pushed to breaking point.

Harper’s Family Search Leads to Trouble

After years of estrangement, Harper’s maternal instincts drive her to reconnect with her mother, hoping that Kerrie might have finally turned her life around. With no extended family for Archie, Harper longs for stability and a sense of belonging.

Despite Dana’s (Ally Harris) protests, Harper tracks down their mum with help from Cash (Nicholas Cartwright). She discovers their father died from an overdose years ago and that Kerrie hasn’t had any police trouble since. Harper reaches out, but the cold response — “What do you want?” — says it all.

Still, Harper decides to meet Kerrie, hoping that becoming a grandmother could inspire lasting change. Handing Archie to Tane, she claims she’s leaving for a work trip and sets off, determined to give her mother one last chance.

Tane Loses Trust

When Harper returns, she insists that Kerrie has changed and deserves another shot. But Dana refuses to believe it — and when Tane overhears the argument, the truth erupts. Furious that Harper lied about her trip and risked bringing an unpredictable person into their child’s life, Tane refuses to let Kerrie anywhere near Archie.

Despite Harper’s pleas, his protective instincts take over. To him, Harper’s decision is reckless — and he’s determined to take control of the situation.

Tane Takes Archie and Disappears

After seeking advice from Cash, Harper returns home ready to talk things through — only to walk into an empty house. Archie’s gone. Tane’s gone.

All that remains is a note that reads:
“I’ve taken Archie. He’ll be safe with me.”

A chilling promo shows Tane sitting in his car with Archie outside the Surf Club, torn between his fears and the consequences of what he’s done.

Harper panics, leaving voicemail after voicemail: “Tane, you can’t just take off with my son without telling me where you’re going. Come home. I’m serious.”

Harper’s Desperation Turns to Action

While Dana and John Palmer (Shane Withington) insist Tane would never harm Archie, Harper’s anxiety spirals. She considers calling the police — but Dana warns her that Tane is already on a suspended sentence after last year’s baby Poppy kidnapping incident.

If the authorities get involved again, Tane could face prison.

As the hours pass, Harper issues a final ultimatum:
“If my son isn’t in my arms by the end of today, I’m calling the police.”

Realizing trust between them has shattered, Harper reaches out to a solicitor to begin formal custody proceedings.

What Will Tane Do Next?

With his freedom and fatherhood on the line, Tane must decide whether to return and face the fallout — or risk losing everything by running.

As Home and Away builds to one of its most emotional weeks yet, the question remains: will Harper get Archie back safely, or will Tane’s panic destroy their family for good?
