Coronation Street Reveals Tracy’s Shocking Marriage Plan as Feud with Cassie Explodes
Coronation Street fans can expect fireworks in Weatherfield this week as Tracy McDonald (Kate Ford) makes a jaw-dropping decision about her divorce — one that could turn her feud with Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) into an all-out war.
Tracy’s Divorce Drama Turns Personal
Tonight’s early ITVX episode sees Tracy dig in her heels and vow to stay married to Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) — not for love, but out of spite. With tensions between Tracy and Cassie at an all-time high, she decides to weaponise her failed marriage in the most Tracy-like way possible.
The pair have been locked in a petty back-and-forth of pranks and insults, with poor Ken Barlow (William Roache) stuck in the crossfire at No. 1. When Tracy suddenly suggests a truce, Cassie is immediately suspicious.
During a visit to the cab office, Tracy plays the part of the peacemaker, insisting that Ken’s health should come first. “It’s time to stop fighting,” she tells Cassie, painting herself as the bigger person. But her real motive quickly becomes clear.
The Florist War
Tracy slyly urges Cassie to use her influence over Steve — who’s currently away visiting his brother — to convince him to drop his legal claim on the florists as part of their divorce settlement. Cassie, of course, refuses.
From there, the rivalry only intensifies. Later, Cassie finds a tipsy Tracy passed out on the sofa after one too many glasses of wine. In a shocking move, Cassie lights a candle under the tablecloth to stage a fake fire rescue, screaming for Tracy to wake up and then pretending to save her. Tracy comes round just in time to see Cassie playing the hero — and she’s furious.
Tracy’s Defiant Stand
When the rest of the household questions her erratic behaviour, Tracy finally admits she’s dropped her divorce lawyer because she can’t afford the fees. Cassie advises her to end the battle and split her assets with Steve, but Tracy refuses to back down.
“No way,” she snaps. “That business is mine, not his. He’s not having half of my flower shop. I’ll stay married to Steve for the rest of my life if it means I keep my shop!”
Her words leave Cassie stunned — and prove once again that Tracy will stop at nothing to win.
What Happens Next?
Tracy’s stubbornness could spell disaster, especially when Steve returns to find his ex-wife refusing to finalise their divorce. With Cassie growing more determined to expose her, and Ken caught between them, Coronation Street looks set for another explosive family showdown.
Has Cassie underestimated Tracy’s ruthless streak? Or will her scheming finally backfire? One thing’s for sure — in Weatherfield, revenge is never simple.
