Swarla fans are reeling after Coronation Street spoilers confirmed more heartbreak is on the horizon for Carla Connor and Lisa Swain. The much-loved couple, who’ve endured trauma, betrayal, and even a return-from-the-dead shock, appear to be over for good—or so Lisa says.

But fans aren’t convinced. In fact, many believe Lisa is lying to protect Carla from something far more sinister: her resurrected wife, Becky Swain.

A Year of Chaos and Pain

Carla and Lisa’s relationship has never been smooth. Carla nearly died from sepsis earlier this year, only to survive a hostage crisis with her own brother. Meanwhile, Lisa was emotionally unraveling after the loss of PC Craig Tinker reminded her of losing her late wife Becky in the line of duty.

But nothing could prepare Lisa for Becky’s sudden reappearance—alive, and intent on rebuilding the family she left behind. Since then, Becky has driven a wedge between Lisa and Carla, using their daughter Betsy as emotional leverage.

In emotional scenes last week, Lisa begged Carla not to force her to choose between love and family. Carla walked away—until Ryan Connor convinced her to return. But just as Carla approached the house, she saw Lisa and Becky decorating the Christmas tree, looking like the perfect family. The reunion was over before it began.

“It’s Too Late” — Or a Cover-Up?

In upcoming scenes, Carla returns to No.6, tells Lisa she never stopped loving her, and says she wants to come home. Lisa, though clearly still in love, tells Carla it’s too late—it’s over.

But fans online are calling foul. Many believe Lisa is pushing Carla away on purpose, either because she’s emotionally shutting down—or because she’s protecting Carla from Becky, who they suspect may be dangerous.
