The week begins with turmoil when David’s anger boils over during an argument with Kit, leading to his arrest for assaulting a police officer. As a result, he misses Shona’s scan, and it’s Kit who eventually drives him to the hospital.

Their joy quickly turns to heartbreak when the sonographer detects a mass on the baby’s neck. In a special standalone episode, viewers will see the tragedy unfold from Shona’s perspective as she struggles to cope with the news.

Believing David is being dismissive, she orders him to leave, unaware that he’s only pretending to stay strong for her sake. When the consultant later confirms the mass is a tumour, the couple are crushed to learn that it could be cancerous.
