Coronation Street Spoilers: Surprise Proposal Sparks Explosive Battersby Showdown as Eva Price Returns
Eva’s Surprise Comeback
Eva’s reappearance in Weatherfield isn’t just a shock to fans, but to Eva herself. Her partner Ben has secretly bought The Rovers Return from Carla Connor, planning a surprise move back to Manchester with Eva, her daughter Susie, and his two sons.
Completely in the dark, Eva is blindfolded during the drive, only discovering where she’s been taken when she steps out onto the cobbles and sees the pub that once shaped her life.
Her excitement quickly builds when she realises she’s not just moving home — she’s stepping back into the heart of her family. But as Eva soon finds out, peace and quiet are two things the Battersbys never do well.
A Proposal and a Public Meltdown
When Eva spots her sister Leanne (Jane Danson) on the street, the two share an emotional reunion. However, their joy is short-lived when Leanne’s face drops at the mention of Eva’s plans to reconnect with Toyah (Georgia Taylor).
Eva insists the sisters should clear the air once and for all, convincing Leanne to head to the Bistro to make peace. But what Leanne finds there sends shockwaves through her family — and sets the stage for one of Corrie’s most awkward moments ever.
As she enters the back office, Leanne freezes at the sight of Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) down on one knee, holding a glittering ring and proposing to Toyah — Leanne’s own sister and Nick’s ex.
Toyah is left speechless, torn between joy and horror as her sister watches in disbelief. Nick’s perfect proposal instantly turns into a disaster, while the sisters’ long-simmering resentment boils to the surface.
Brawl at The Rovers
Later that evening, Leanne retreats to the newly reopened Rovers Return, pouring her heart out to Eva over a stiff drink. But before she can even finish relaying the story, the pub doors burst open — and an enraged Toyah storms in.
In true Battersby fashion, words quickly turn to shouting, and shouting turns to chaos. With emotions running high, the sisters’ fight explodes in front of stunned punters.
But Eva has seen enough.
Channelling her mother Stella’s legendary authority, she slams the doors shut, clears the pub, and locks Leanne and Toyah inside with her.
“Enough’s enough,” Eva declares, demanding that her sisters finally hash out their differences before they tear their family apart for good.
The Battersby Women Take Charge
Speaking about her highly anticipated return, Catherine Tyldesley teased what’s to come:
“That dynamic between Eva, Leanne, and Toyah is great — they’re strong women, and when they’re together, they’re even stronger. They’re a real force to be reckoned with. It’s such a joy to play, and I feel so welcomed back.”
As Eva tries to mediate the sisters’ latest feud, fans can expect laughter, heartbreak, and plenty of nostalgia as one of Corrie’s most iconic families take centre stage once more.
But with Leanne still hung up on Nick and Toyah’s emotions running high, Eva may need more than words to restore peace in Weatherfield.
