Corrie star reveals why Kit could still betray Lisa ITV

Coronation Street’s Kit Green is firmly on Team Swarla after the dramatic events of Corriedale – but actor Jacob Roberts is already warning us that it may not last forever. Fans saw Kit finally come good last week, as he rescued Carla Connorfrom the shipping container where Becky Swain had her locked up.

The gripping crossover special saw Kit unite with Carla to bring down Becky, before they were all caught up in the drama surrounding the multi-car road crash. So, with Becky now out of the picture, will Kit be in Lisa Swain’s good books for a while?

Jacob has now reflected on the big story – and what could happen next – in a new interview with Soap Scoop, the weekly podcast from Inside Soap magazine with cast chats every Tuesday.

“It’s a weird one because me and Ali King [who plays Carla] got put together out of nowhere,” Jacob laughed. “I don’t think I did many scenes with Ali before that.

“So we just developed this bond and we both wanted the same thing. Whether she wanted Lisa, and I just wanted to win the case – we were both working together to try and get our own goal.

“I think there’s some respect there. Maybe there wasn’t any respect before that, but I think we sort of respect each other. And I probably respect Lisa a bit more – and she respects me a bit more.”

Asked whether Kit has won over the Swarla fans now, Jacob replied: “I don’t know – I’d hope to think so! I think him saving Carla was a good thing. Kit wants Lisa and Carla to be together anyway, so I suppose that’ll make the Swarla fans happy.”

Of course, Kit isn’t known for his selflessness in most situations, so it may not be long before animosity flares up again! Jacob has warned that all bets would be off if Lisa ever stood in the way of Kit’s ambitions to rise through the ranks of the police force.

“I feel like he’ll always be dodgy!” Jacob confirmed. “And I think they should always keep him dodgy.

“But I don’t think he’s turned over a new leaf. I think he could stab Lisa in the back straight away – if he wanted to and if it helped him. I think Kit’s a selfish character, so yeah, 100% he’d do it!”
