Coronation Street Star Teases Betsy, Dylan and Brody Love Triangle
Mason’s Death Leaves Ripples
Coronation Street fans are still reeling from the tragic stabbing of Mason Radcliffe, Betsy Swain’s first love. The shocking episode earned Corrie the award for Best Storyline at the Inside Soap Awards 2025, with Luca Toolan (Mason) reflecting on the pressure of delivering such a pivotal plot.
“I had a support network around me – Sally [Carman], Vicky [Myers], Liam, Sydney – everyone. We all pointed towards making the best episode,” Luca shared. “It was nerve-racking, but they lifted me up.”
With Mason gone, Betsy has slowly begun to move forward, and her heart now lies between two very different suitors: Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) and Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey).
Dylan, Brody and Betsy: A Fiery Triangle
Since his release from STC, Dylan has struggled to escape Brody’s influence. Their friendship has pulled Dylan into Carl Webster’s dodgy car scam, though Dylan continues to resist going too far down the wrong path.
At the same time, Dylan has shared romantic sparks with Betsy — though Brody has also been vying for her attention. This tension has already led to clashes, and Liam McCheyne teased that the triangle is far from over.
“There’s going to be loads of drama,” he promised. “The relationship between Dylan and Brody, and Dylan and Betsy, that’s going to be a bit of a triangle that everyone’s liking.”
Pressed on whether Dylan will win Betsy’s heart, Liam admitted: “Whether Dylan and Betsy will get together, I don’t know. Me and Syd work really well off screen.”
What Do Betsy and Brody Think?
Sydney Martin (Betsy) and Ryan Mulvey (Brody) were equally tight-lipped when asked about the triangle’s future.
“If the spark lights, it lights and if it doesn’t, it doesn’t. So we’ll see what happens,” Ryan teased.
Sydney added: “It’s a nice little fiery chemistry.”
Dylan’s Journey So Far
Reflecting on his long history with Corrie, Liam noted how far Dylan’s story has come. “It’s been five and a half years since I started playing him again and it’s gone so quick. Me and my twin brother Connor played him as a baby, and coming back has just been such a ride. Developing this character has been such a pleasure.”
For now, Dylan remains caught between Betsy’s heart and Brody’s bad influence, setting the stage for messy choices and broken friendships on the cobbles.
