Coronation Street’s Catherine Tyldesley Teases “Shocking” Storylines Ahead as Eva Price’s Future Is Confirmed
Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley has confirmed that her fan-favourite character Eva Price is back for good — and warned viewers to brace themselves for a wave of drama and “shocking” twists on the cobbles.
Eva’s Return Brings Joy — and Trouble — to the Rovers
After seven years away from Coronation Street, Tyldesley made her highly anticipated return last week, with Eva stepping back into Weatherfield life as the new landlady of the Rovers Return. This time, she’s joined by her husband Ben Driscoll and formidable mother-in-law Maggie, whose money secretly helped finance the pub’s purchase.
Speaking to The Express, Catherine revealed that the Rovers has once again become a hub of chaos and celebration.
“What’s been lovely since coming back is the Rovers has just been filled with so much happiness and joy,” she said. “I can’t tell you how many parties we’ve had in there — it’s been amazing. The energy of the cast and the writing is top-notch, so I’ve been having a lot of fun.”
But in true Corrie fashion, that happiness won’t last long.
“However, it is Coronation Street,” she teased. “So while there’s lots of laughter coming up, there are also plenty of really shocking moments to come too.”
How Long Will Eva Stay?
When pressed about her long-term plans, Tyldesley hinted that she’s keeping things open — though she’s hopeful Eva’s comeback is more than temporary.
“Well, it depends when they get fed up with me! I mean, that laugh can get quite irritating,” she joked.
She went on to praise the Corrie writing team for giving her character so much depth over the years:
“I’m extremely grateful to the writers for giving Eva so much. I’m just enjoying it while it’s there, and we’ll see what happens — but I’d like to imagine they have lots of plans for her.”
Dark Secrets and Drama Ahead
Eva’s return has already collided with one of the soap’s darkest ongoing storylines. Viewers recently discovered that Ben’s teenage son Will has been groomed by his athletics coach Megan, setting off a chain of chilling events that have rocked the Driscoll family.
With Ben hiding secrets of his own and Maggie’s icy demeanor hinting at deeper ties to the past, fans are predicting that Eva will soon find herself at the center of another emotional storm.
As Tyldesley put it, Coronation Street is about to balance joy and heartbreak once again — and this time, Eva Price is right at the heart of it.
