Corrie Star Confirms Hopeful Future for Lisa and Carla — and Teases “Corriedale” Crossover
A Relationship Tested by the Past
Coronation Street fans have been on edge watching Carla Connor (Alison King) and DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) navigate one of their toughest challenges yet — the shocking return of Lisa’s supposedly dead wife, Becky (Amy Cudden). The revelation has thrown their relationship into turmoil, testing both trust and patience.
But there’s light at the end of the cobbles. Vicky Myers has hinted that the couple’s love story might just survive — and perhaps even lead to a wedding.
“Hopefully There’ll Be Wedding Bells”
Speaking at the Inside Soap Awards, where she scooped trophies for Best Actress and Best Partnership, Myers shared cautious optimism about Carla and Lisa’s future.
“I don’t know, because it was never set in stone where they would get married,” she said. “But all being well, there will be wedding bells. But it’s a soap, so who knows? There’s drama involved — we’ll have to wait and see. But hopefully! I’d like to see that.”
The Ibiza wedding that fans have speculated about may not be confirmed, but Myers’ words suggest the couple’s bond is far from broken.
Becky’s Return Brings Chaos
Of course, no Corrie romance is complete without a twist — and Becky’s unexpected comeback has been pure chaos. Her attempts to reclaim both her wife and daughter have created friction, forcing Carla to defend her relationship while keeping her temper in check.
Even Myers admitted she was hesitant about Becky’s reappearance at first. “No offence to Amy at all, but I was like, ‘Oh no!’” she confessed. “Then, when we explored Lisa and Becky’s history — how they met, what they went through — I thought it was actually a really interesting story to tell.”
“Lots More to Come”
Despite the turbulence, the actress promised that Lisa’s storyline is far from over. “We’ve all been working incredibly hard,” she said. “The writers have been brilliant. People are really engaging with the story — doing edits, reels, messages. It’s been amazing. There’s lots more to come.”
A Soap Universe Expands: Corriedale Begins Filming
Adding fuel to fan speculation, Myers let slip a curious clue during the interview — she mentioned traveling “back to Leeds” with her awards, which just happens to be where Emmerdale films.
And now it’s official: production has begun on Corriedale, the highly anticipated crossover between Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
Set to air in early 2026 on ITV, STV, ITVX, and YouTube, Corriedale will unite Weatherfield and the Dales for the first time in a one-hour event packed with crime, chaos, and cross-soap cameos. The crossover will also usher in a new “Soap Power Hour” — Emmerdale at 8 p.m. followed by Corrie at 8:30 p.m.
Love, Lies, and Crossover Chaos Ahead
Between Carla and Lisa’s rocky romance, Becky’s lingering presence, and a groundbreaking crossover, Coronation Street fans have plenty to look forward to. Whether the couple makes it to the altar — or to the Dales — remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: Weatherfield’s next chapter promises love, danger, and history in the making.
