Corriedale First Look: ITV Unveils Behind-the-Scenes Glimpse of Historic Soap Crossover

ITV has officially shared the first images from its groundbreaking crossover event, Corriedale, bringing together beloved characters from Coronation Street and Emmerdale in a one-hour special set to redefine soap history.

A Landmark Moment for British Soaps

The highly anticipated episode, airing this January, will unite two of ITV’s biggest worlds for the first time ever. The crossover marks the launch of the network’s new Soaps Power Hour, which will see Corrie and Emmerdale air back-to-back each weeknight starting in 2026.

Newly released photos show Vicky Myers as Coronation Street’s DS Lisa Swain and Danny Miller as Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle sharing a tense night shoot on location — the first official confirmation that these two fan-favourite characters will take centre stage in the special.Coronation Street and Emmerdale crossover details revealed and it involves Lisa Swain | Leicestershire Live

Two Worlds Collide

The images, captured during an intense night shoot, hint at high-stakes drama and deep emotional tension. In Coronation Street, Lisa’s life has recently spiraled into chaos following the shocking return of her ex-wife Becky, presumed dead for years. With Becky’s sinister motives still unclear, fans have been bracing for a confrontation that could push Lisa to her breaking point.

Meanwhile, over in the Dales, Aaron’s turbulent love life is once again in turmoil. After surviving his ex-husband John Sugden’s murderous rampage, Aaron finally reunited with Robert Sugden — only for Robert’s secret prison husband, Kev, to turn up.

Now, in Corriedale, Lisa and Aaron’s paths cross on a dark, fateful night. ITV is keeping the plot under wraps, but insiders tease “explosive scenes, nail-biting drama, and never-before-seen interactions between some of the nation’s most loved characters.”Emmerdale spoilers: 10 ways to celebrate Robert and Aaron's wedding - Robron style! | Radio Times

Cast and Crew React to Filming History

Speaking about the crossover, Vicky Myers said:

“To be involved in this unique, bold, and history-making episode in Coronation Street’s 65th year is fantastic. When I read the script and found out how two worlds collide and the impact the night’s events will have… wow. It’s going to be unmissable.”

She added that working alongside the Emmerdale cast and crew was “incredibly exciting” and praised the “camaraderie and creativity” behind the scenes.

Danny Miller echoed her excitement, saying:

“I’m made up that Aaron is in Corriedale. Being from Manchester, Coronation Street has always been as iconic in our house as Emmerdale. To cross them both over is such a great idea. The night shoots have been full-on — especially with young kids at home — but so much fun. What to Expect

While ITV has yet to reveal which other stars will appear, both soaps have teased Corriedale as a one-off, hour-long spectacular packed with action, heartbreak, and surprises.

With both shows celebrating milestone anniversaries — Coronation Street’s 65th and Emmerdale’s 53rd — the crossover promises to be one of the biggest television events of 2025.

As Vicky Myers put it:

“It’s going to be epic.”
