“She feels it’s the only way out,” Atkins admitted. “She wants to make it go away and bury it once and for all. It’s such an immoral thing that she’s considering, but she feels it’s her only option.”

Yet, just as she steels herself for the decision, Sarah arrives with a sentimental gesture — a memory box for the baby, complete with ultrasound photos and a heartfelt letter welcoming the child into the world. The sight of it devastates Charity, who can barely hold it together as Sarah asks her to write her own letter for the keepsake.

“It will simmer for a while,” Atkins teased. “And then, of course, we know secrets and lies do have a way of coming out — one way or another.”
