Emmerdale Star Jokes Filming “Should Be Banned” As Rain-Soaked Clip Reveals Behind-the-Scenes Struggles
Bradley Riches shares winter filming chaos as Lucy Pargeter and others react to the brutally honest footage
Life in the Dales? Cold, Wet, and Hilarious
Winter in the Yorkshire Dales may look beautiful on-screen, but Emmerdale stars are lifting the curtain on the freezing truth behind the scenes. Actor Bradley Riches, who plays Lewis Barton, recently gave fans a glimpse of the elements cast members face daily—and it’s as far from glamour as it gets.
In a short but hilarious video posted to Instagram, Bradley filmed co-stars Eden Taylor-Draper (Belle) and Olivia Bromley (Dawn) getting drenched by sideways rain while filming exterior scenes on the village set. His caption?
“I love my job.”
It’s safe to say he was laughing through the chaos.

“Should Be Banned Until April!”
While fans were quick to sympathize with the weather-beaten actors, it was Emmerdale legend Lucy Pargeter (Chas Dingle) who stole the comment section with her dry wit:
“Oh the village!!! Should be banned from October till April!!!!”
Fellow castmates chimed in with equally amused reactions. Amy Walsh called the post “brilliant,” while Rosie Bentham added: “Ahhahah too good.” It’s clear that while the cast might freeze through scenes, their humor keeps the set warm.
Bradley’s Rise and Lewis’s Storyline
Bradley Riches joined Emmerdale earlier this year in a high-profile storyline as Lewis Barton, the long-lost son of the late Emma Barton. After sending a letter to Moira Dingle, seeking the truth about his mother, Lewis discovered Moira had accidentally caused Emma’s death—setting off a dramatic emotional arc.
Now settled in the village, Lewis lives with Ross Barton and Vinny Dingle, and recently landed a job at the café. In a recent twist, Kev Townsend was revealed as his biological father—but Nicola King has worked to shield Lewis from the truth by driving Kev out of town.

Romance Rumors and Slow Burns
As for what’s next for Lewis, romance may be on the cards—but Bradley insists any relationship would take time.
“He’s never had a boyfriend, but he knows that he likes boys,” Bradley said in a recent interview. “It would be a slow burner—he finds it hard to trust. But if the right person came along, who knows?”
Upcoming episodes suggest Vinny’s jealousy might spark something when Kammy interrupts his time with Lewis. Could sparks finally fly?
