Emmerdale Star Teases Village Disaster as Surprise Arrival Shakes the Dales
The drama in Emmerdale is far from slowing down. Actor Ash Palmisciano, who plays Matty Barton, has revealed that the Yorkshire village is heading straight into another storm — with disaster, secrets, and shocking arrivals set to rock the Dales.
Matty’s Heartbreak Still Looms Large
Earlier this year, Emmerdale stunned viewers with a terrifying limousine crash that claimed three lives — including Matty’s wife, Amy Barton. Her tragic death left Matty shattered, but the true sting came from what she never got to reveal.
In her final moments, Amy tried to warn Matty about Nate Robinson, whose death and John Sugden’s dark secret later sent shockwaves through the community. But Matty never heard her words. “Amy was on her death bed, she’s got her last words – something about Nate – and Matty was just thinking, oh my god, my wife,” Ash recalled at the Inside Soap Awards. “Even as a viewer, I was listening to what she was saying! I wish I would have heard her, it would have changed everything.”
Trouble Ahead in the Village
Despite that devastating chapter, Ash teased that the soap’s future is set to bring even more chaos. “We’ve got so many exciting things coming up,” he promised. “For a small Yorkshire village, there’s always something about to happen — whether it’s someone that turns up to the village that’s going to cause some trouble, or some sort of disaster.”
Viewers can also expect to see the action move to brand-new settings. “There’s something coming, it’s going to be amazing! We’ve had some new sets being built for it too,” Ash revealed, hinting that the scale of the storyline will be unlike anything fans have seen before.
Could Amy Return?
Although Amy’s death was one of the most shocking twists of the year, Ash admitted he hasn’t given up on her making a comeback. “I’m always trying to pitch that Amy Barton didn’t die and she can come back, but we’ll see!” he joked.
What’s Next for Emmerdale?
With fresh sets, a mystery arrival, and looming disaster, the ITV soap is gearing up for another explosive season. Fans should brace themselves — life in the Dales is about to get even more dangerous.
