Kev’s Arrival Shakes the Dales

 

Emmerdale has welcomed newcomer Kev, Robert Sugden’s secret husband, and already the mysterious character is stirring up chaos. Played by Chris Coghill, Kev has only just arrived on screen, but his presence has already sent shockwaves through Robert and Aaron’s fragile reunion.

Now, co-stars Bradley Riches (Lewis Barton) and Shebz Miah (Kammy Hadiq) are warning fans that they’ve only seen a fraction of what Kev has to offer.

“Fans Haven’t Seen the Half of It”

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, the actors teased that Kev’s storyline is packed with drama, twists, and explosive moments still to come.

“There are some twists about him later on,” Bradley revealed, before adding, “He’s so unpredictable. My God.”

Shebz agreed, adding: “There’s a lot of twists and turns, obviously in Emmerdale fashion. But it’s something so interesting for the fans. They are gonna be hooked. It’s what we needed with the amount of twists. And what you’ve seen so far? That’s not the half of it.”

From Villain to Fan Favourite?

Kev’s fiery debut showed him lashing out after Robert’s admission about being set up, sparking fears that the new arrival could be the undoing of Robron. But Bradley and Shebz believe fans’ opinions will evolve as Kev’s layers are revealed.

Bradley explained: “If you’re a Robron-er you may hate him at the beginning, but you will grow to love him. I feel like you see the character evolve. You see different things that are gonna happen later down the line. You do grow to love Kev.”

Robron’s Future Put to the Test

While some viewers are worried that Kev’s arrival spells doom for Robert and Aaron’s relationship, the cast believe their love can weather the storm. “They will [survive],” Bradley reassured fans, before joking: “Yeah… we’d be cancelled if we weren’t [Robron fans]!”

Chris Coghill Earns Praise

Both actors were quick to heap praise on Chris Coghill, calling him “phenomenal” and “authentic” in his portrayal of the complex new character.

Shebz said: “Chris is phenomenal. He’s so good at what he does. It’s a very complex character but he plays it with such authenticity. It’s gonna be so exciting for the fans to watch. Honestly, we couldn’t have gotten more lucky.”

With Kev set to clash with multiple villagers and more twists around the corner, it’s clear that Robert’s secret husband is one of the most unpredictable new arrivals the Dales has seen in years. Fans may not trust him now — but if Bradley and Shebz are right, they’ll soon be hooked.
