Emmerdale’s Bradley Riches Teases Big Change for Lewis Barton as Gabby Thomas Exits Dale View

Emmerdale star Bradley Riches has shared an exciting update about his character Lewis Barton, revealing a major new living arrangement following Gabby Thomas’s departure from Dale View.

The actor, who joined the ITV soap earlier this year, has quickly become a fan favourite after bringing a mix of warmth, humour, and quiet depth to Lewis — the son of the late Emma Barton, who was pushed to her death by Moira Dingle in one of the show’s most infamous storylines.

Lewis Moves Into Dale View

In recent weeks, Lewis has grown close to several villagers, especially Nicola King and Vinny Dingle, offering both friendship and emotional support as Vinny navigates heartbreak after splitting from Gabby.

But with Gabby moving out, a big shake-up is underway. Kim Tate has stepped in to help Vinny find new housemates — and now Lewis and Ross Barton are officially moving in.

Sharing a light-hearted update on Instagram, Bradley posted a series of photos with Ross actor Michael Parr outside the newly renamed home, writing:

“Some may call Dale View a ‘lad pad’ — I call it Lewis’s Lounge of Luxury. Thanks Kim Tate.”

Vinny actor Bradley Johnson commented, “The best housemates,” while Parr added, “Let the bromance begin!!!”Emmerdale fans predict love twist ahead of Vinny's wedding - but not with Kammy | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV | Express.co.uk

A New Chapter for Lewis and Vinny

The living arrangement isn’t the only thing changing. Just weeks ago, Bradley addressed fan speculation about a potential romance between Lewis and Vinny, whose journey of self-discovery has struck a chord with viewers.

Speaking to Digital Spy at the Inside Soap Awards 2025, the actor explained that Lewis’s role in Vinny’s story is about understanding, acceptance, and friendship.

“It’s about having someone from the queer community helping him and saying, ‘It’s not weird to think these things. Everyone’s stories are different regarding their sexuality and they have different journeys.’”

Bradley teased that their bond may evolve naturally:

“Who knows? Only time will tell. I think at the beginning it’s definitely a friendship. Every good relationship is based on friendship — and that’s a good starting point.”
