Emmerdale’s Kelvin Fletcher and Wife Liz Reveal ‘Big Change’ on Family Life Since Farm Move

From Soap Star to Shepherd Family

Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher and his wife, Liz, opened up about the joys—and chaos—of running a farm while raising their four children. Appearing on a repeat episode of Alan Titchmarsh’s Love Your Weekend, the couple discussed how life on the farm has transformed their family dynamics and created unexpected adventures for everyone involved.

Kelvin and Liz, parents to Marnie, seven, Milo, four, and one-year-old twins, have embraced a life that combines hands-on farming with the everyday unpredictability of family life. “The farm is just becoming chaos,” Liz admitted. “We always said we’d have this clean, calm farm, and it’s the absolute opposite. The kids are everywhere, the animals are everywhere.”

A Cheeky Baby Admission and Dance Moves

During the chat, host Alan Titchmarsh teased the couple about Kelvin’s appearance on Strictly Come Dancing, joking about his sensuous dance moves. Liz didn’t hold back, laughing: “I was not ready to see that, I was like, the hips don’t lie. He told me he couldn’t dance, and the whole family, everyone was in shock—we couldn’t believe what we witnessed.”

Kelvin’s talent on the dance floor prompted Liz to joke about the family’s growth: “That’s why we’ve got four kids, Alan.” Alan quickly quipped, “Let’s move swiftly on,” but the exchange highlighted the couple’s playful dynamic and sense of humor amidst the busy family schedule.

Children Taking the Lead on the Farm

The Fletchers also shared insights into how their children are adapting to farm life. Marnie, the eldest, has embraced her role with surprising enthusiasm. “She’s really taken to it and is showing so much potential to be an amazing shepherdess,” Liz said. “Sometimes she tells us what we’re doing, and she’s so strong, and we’re so proud of her, because this was a big change for her from just moving to a big farm.”

Kelvin echoed his pride, adding, “I can’t help but feel an immense sense of pride because the life that she’s currently living is a real representation of life. She understands the animals, she helps rear them, and it’s just great.”

While Marnie has shown responsibility and dedication, the twins are still learning boundaries in their adventurous new environment. “They’re picking things up that are dangerous. They’re licking everything; they can’t be around. They have got to be strapped in the pram,” Liz explained. Milo, meanwhile, is adjusting to life on the farm with curiosity and energy.

Balancing Family and Farming Life

The couple’s reflections highlighted both the rewards and challenges of raising a family while managing a working farm. Liz described the farm as a place of learning, responsibility, and growth, but also acknowledged the chaos that naturally comes with young children. Despite the difficulties, the couple emphasized the sense of pride that comes from watching their children connect with nature and animals.

“It’s a lot to take in as a child, and she’s really taken on those responsibilities and wants to be stuck in there with us,” Liz added, underscoring the sense of purpose the farm gives Marnie and the rest of the family.

Kelvin and Liz’s interview is a reminder that even for a family used to public attention and celebrity, life on a farm brings a unique blend of unpredictability, humor, and fulfillment. Between dancing, parenting, and animal care, the Fletchers are navigating their new chapter with love, laughter, and a little bit of chaos.
