Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley Beams with Pride After Historic Dingle Family Win

Emmerdale star Lisa Riley has shared her joy after the Dingle clan picked up yet another trophy at the Inside Soap Awards 2025, cementing their place as the most decorated family in soap history.

The Dingles Make History

It was a glittering night for the soaps on Monday (September 29), with Coronation Street crowned Best Soap. But over in Yorkshire, the Dingles ensured Emmerdale didn’t leave empty-handed.

The iconic family scooped Best Family for the fifth time — more than any other household in the awards’ history. The victory sparked celebrations among cast and fans alike, with Mandy Dingle actress Lisa Riley proudly holding the award aloft.

Riley took to Instagram to thank fans:
“THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, to all the readers of @insidesoapmagazine for naming ‘The Dingles’ as your BEST FAMILY…. These awards always mean the most because they are voted for by YOU!!!”

She added that she was “proud to take our award back up to our Emmerdale family in Yorkshire, where it belongs with my crazy, brilliantly funny family. Love you Ding Ding Dings.”

Emmerdale’s Other Big Wins

It wasn’t just the Dingles who celebrated. The soap also picked up:

  • Best Young Performer – Amelia Flanagan, winning for the fourth time for her portrayal of April Windsor.

  • Best Showstopper – awarded for the shocking Valentine’s Day limo crash storyline, which saw a vehicle plunge into a frozen lake, claiming the lives of Amy Wyatt, Suzy Merton and Leyla Harding.

The high-stakes stunt was hailed as one of the year’s most dramatic moments on British television.

The Dingle Legacy

From Zak and Lisa’s rough-and-ready beginnings to Mandy’s outrageous antics and Charity’s scheming, the Dingles have long been Emmerdale’s beating heart. Their mix of humour, loyalty, and chaos has made them a fan-favourite family — and now the most awarded.

Actor Shebz Miah, who plays newcomer Kammy Hadiq, even joked he wanted in on the action, sharing a snap of Lisa Riley, Karen Blick (Lydia Dingle) and Bradley Johnson (Vinny Dingle) with the trophy. “I’m the only missing Dingle,” he teased.

A Win for the Fans

For Lisa Riley, this latest triumph wasn’t just a cast celebration, but a thank-you to the viewers who continue to keep the Dingles at the heart of Emmerdale.

As she put it herself: “Of course I’m biased!!!! CONGRATULATIONS TO MY WONDERFUL DINGLE FAMILY.”

And with storylines continuing to push the family into the spotlight, it looks like the Dingles aren’t slowing down any time soon.
