Emmerdale’s Mike Parr Shares First Emotional ‘Dad’ Tribute to Newborn Daughter Suzie
Emmerdale star Mike Parr has opened up about fatherhood for the first time, posting a moving message to his newborn daughter Suzie just six days after her birth.
From Soap Star to Fatherhood
The 39-year-old actor, best known for his role as Ross Barton, welcomed Suzie over the weekend with girlfriend Isabelle Du Plessis. The couple first announced they were expecting earlier this year, after “hard launching” their relationship in October 2024 with a beachside photo that read: “M.J.P S.D.P. Soon to be 3.”
Mike, who made his Emmerdale debut in 2013, has enjoyed a dramatic return to the soap since last year, even earning a nomination for Best Comic Performance at the Inside Soap Awards 2025. But away from the screen, it’s clear his proudest role yet is being a dad.
“Life Before You Seems So Meaningless”
Sharing a black-and-white snap of himself carrying Suzie in a baby carrier, Mike poured out his emotions in a heartfelt tribute.
“Dear Suzie, the last 6 days with you have been better than all my years on this planet combined. Life before you seems so meaningless. You have changed what the word love means to me. In fact, I’m not sure I understood what it was before I held you.”
Promising to dedicate himself fully to his daughter, he added: “There’s not a day that will go by when I don’t tell you and show you how much you mean to me. I’ll leave no stone unturned in making sure you always feel safe, supported, and loved. I absolutely adore you. Thank you for making us so happy. Love, Dad x.”
Co-Stars Share Their Joy
Mike’s Emmerdale family was quick to celebrate the news. Beth Cordingly sent her love, writing: “Thrilled for you both, sending tonnes of love… Here’s to the biggest adventure of your lives.”
Lisa Riley gushed: “So much love and congratulations to you all… could not be happier,” while Kelvin Fletcher added: “Congratulations lad. What a journey you’ve begun.”
