A Battle No Family Should Face

Home and Away star Jake Ryan, loved by fans as Robbo Shaw from Summer Bay, has shared a heartbreaking update about three-year-old Eleanor Oakley, the daughter of his close friends Rob and Jacqui Oakley. Eleanor is fighting stage 4 neuroblastoma, an extremely rare and aggressive childhood cancer. Jake has stepped forward once again, determined to help give her a chance at survival.

For Jake, who is soon to become a father himself, Eleanor’s story has become deeply personal. He described the Oakley family as “superheroes” and praised the doctors and nurses supporting her fight.

A Race Against Time

Eleanor was first diagnosed at 18 months old. Since then, she has undergone multiple surgeries and battled a brain tumour, yet her family says she continues to smile through every moment.

The life-saving treatment she needs is only available in the United States, and it comes at a cost that many families could never cover alone. Jake has helped lead fundraising efforts through a GoFundMe campaign, stating that the clock is against them:

“We’ve raised $215,000 of the $300,000 needed to get Eleanor to the U.S. for urgent, life-saving treatment. Time is not our best friend here.”

A Heartfelt Call for Help

On Instagram, Jake asked his followers and the wider Australian community to support Eleanor’s fight:

“This is my little mate Eleanor. We are so close to reaching the target to give her a chance. Please, if anyone can spare a couple of bucks, the link is in my bio.”

Jake’s supporters, Home and Away fans, and families across Australia have begun rallying once again, sharing the link and boosting the campaign.
