Home and Away 2026 Premiere: Train Tragedy, Heroic Rescues, and the Shocking Return of Brax and Ricky!

Disaster Strikes: The Train Derailment That Changes Everything

Home and Away is kicking off its thirty-ninth season with a storyline that’s set to change Summer Bay forever. Returning to Seven and 7plus on Monday, 19 January 2026 at 7:00pm, the beloved Aussie soap picks up where it left off—with chaos, fear, and lives hanging in the balance after a catastrophic train crash inside a tunnel en route to a Broken Hill music festival.

Viewers were left reeling at the end of 2025 as the train, packed with some of the show’s most beloved characters, derailed during what was meant to be a celebration. On board were Justin, Mackenzie, Remi, Abigail, Dana, Sonny, Lacey, Jo, and Eddie—and when the show returns, their survival is far from guaranteed.

Tane’s Daring Move—and the Cost That Comes With It

In the aftermath, emergency teams arrive to secure the collapsing tunnel and free those still trapped. But the situation grows more tense when Tane Parata (Ethan Browne) defies orders and rushes into the wreckage, risking his own life in a desperate attempt to save his friends.

His bold move becomes the emotional and ethical flashpoint for the early weeks of the season. Will Tane make it out? Who will he save—and at what personal cost?

Meanwhile, Cash, Levi, and David are forced to choose between protocol and compassion, while grief and adrenaline threaten to fracture even the strongest bonds.

Brax and Ricky: The Comeback Fans Have Waited 10 Years For

Just as one chapter explodes in crisis, another reopens with emotional weight and nostalgia. After a decade away, Brax (Stephen Peacocke) and Ricky (Bonnie Sveen) finally return to the screen in a major Western Australia special event storyline.

Their scenes—filmed at Perth landmarks including Elizabeth Quay and the Bell Tower—promise answers to the question that has haunted fans since 2016: Where did life take Brax and Ricky after they left the Bay?

Peacocke admitted the return was emotional: “It felt like a homecoming. I love playing Brax… and I didn’t even realise it had been 10 years.” Their return is expected to be one of the biggest audience draws of the year.
