Home and Away Star Christie Hayes Welcomes ‘Little Angel’ Marigold After Four-Year IVF Journey
A Dream Finally Comes True
After years of heartache and perseverance, Home and Away icon Christie Hayes has shared the news fans have been waiting to hear: she’s welcomed a baby girl with husband Justin Coombes-Pearce—and their joy is undeniable.
The Australian soap star turned radio host announced the arrival of Marigold “Goldie” May on Instagram, sharing a tender snapshot of their newborn daughter and calling her “the little angel we wished and prayed for.” The couple, who have been vocal about their long struggle with infertility, described their daughter as the light they never stopped hoping for.
“We are the happiest parents (and aunts, cousins, brothers, Grandparents) in the world,” Christie wrote. “We wished and prayed for her for so many years, and were taught that love and belief really is the answer.”
A Journey Through Heartbreak and Hope
Christie, now a beloved voice on the Hit Network’s Dan & Christie, has long shared her fertility journey with raw honesty, opening up about miscarriage, hormonal rollercoasters, and the emotional toll of IVF. The couple endured four intense years of trying, and their daughter’s birth came after their fourth IVF attempt.
“You never think it’s going to work,” she admitted candidly on air. “You’re in such a painful place that you can’t see a happy ending. But sometimes… it works.”
The road was filled with heartbreak—including the loss of a pregnancy—but Christie and Justin held on. “Fourth time lucky,” she declared. “Fourth year of marriage, fourth IVF round, and now, finally, our baby girl.”
Love, Family, and a New Beginning
This is the couple’s first child together, and it’s clear they are cherishing every moment. Justin also took to Instagram with an emotional tribute, writing, “From the moment I saw her… held her… kissed her—I realised the love I feel for this little angel is far too great to put into words.”
Christie also shares two sons—Hendrix and Harley—with her ex-husband Daniel White, with whom she quietly separated before making the news public in 2019. She married Justin in 2021, and the two have since become an open and inspiring voice in the conversation around IVF, parenthood, and resilience.
Celebrity Support Floods In
Congratulations poured in from fans and fellow stars alike. Actress Teresa Palmer, who also recently welcomed her fifth child, wrote, “Welcome Marigold, she is PERFECT.”
