Jimenez shared the insights during a recent interview on Slasher Scotty’s YouTube channel, where she discussed joining the long-running Peacock soap, shared behind-the-scenes memories from on set, and what viewers can expect for Gabi’s storyline heading into the new year.

Teasing how the twist specifically impacts Gabi, “Something big is coming,” Jimenez said. “Something big to where when I got the script, I went, ‘Oh, okay. Okay, we’re going there now. I was like, ‘Awesome.’ I was in shock. I was like, ‘All right.’”

The actress added that the twist effects “Gabi’s world,” meaning it could involve a member of her family, such as Rafe (Galen Gering), cousin Javi (Al Calderon) or her daughter Ari (Marissa Reyes).

Jimenez explained that the writers intentionally keep actors in the dark, much like viewers. “It’s funny. We get each script that we’re in, but we don’t know other story lines. So, for a while, I was like, who kidnapped the DiMeras?”

She admitted she briefly wondered if Gabi herself could be behind the crime, “Because it could be me. You never know. We don’t even know if we’re the killer or if we’re not. We just get scripts and stuff goes down, and then when you get the next script you’re like, ‘Oh my god, who is it?’ Or, you ask other actors ‘So, you got a script. Do you know who it is yet?’ And they’re like, ‘Nope, I don’t know.’”

Ultimately, Jimenez said the uncertainty keeps both the actors and the viewers guessing. “I’ll always think it’s me at a certain point. I was like, “It could be Gabi.” But I was like, ‘No, it’s not Gabi, she wouldn’t jeopardize that.’ But I’m still like, ‘it could be Gabi’ So, they keep us guessing just the way they keep you guys guessing.”
