“I Haven’t Quit”: Emmerdale’s Laura Norton Shares Brave Health Update After 3-Stone Weight Loss and Perimenopause Struggle

A Return to Social Media With Honesty

Emmerdale actress Laura Norton, best known to viewers as Kerry Wyatt, has returned to social media with a heartfelt update about her health and fitness journey. The 42-year-old star revealed that she has faced a major hurdle in her progress after losing three stone, explaining that she has recently entered perimenopause. The change, combined with a demanding schedule and motherhood, caused a noticeable “blip” in her momentum.

Norton shared her thoughts with fans in a long Instagram message, responding to many followers who had been asking about her ongoing “42 and Fit” updates. She assured them she hasn’t abandoned her goals, saying: “I haven’t quit! I promise.”Laura Norton weight loss: Changes that saw ITV star lose 3st - how she did it | Express.co.uk

Hormonal Changes and a Difficult Year

The actress explained that she experienced a postpartum hormone drop two years in a row after welcoming her two children with partner and fellow actor Mark Jordon, whom she has been with since 2015. She then learned she is perimenopausal, a diagnosis that helped her understand why she had been feeling “lethargic and sluggish.”

Because of these shifting hormone levels, Norton said she struggled to find time or energy to exercise. Filming schedules made it even harder to stay consistent. Still, she emphasized that she wants to show accountability and continue updating her followers.Emmerdale's Laura Norton pays tribute to partner Mark Jordon

A New Plan to Get Back on Track

Despite the setback, Norton is more determined than ever. She revealed her plan to reset her routine and focus on achievable lifestyle changes. She shared that she will adjust her sleep schedule, aim for earlier mornings, and rethink her diet to support her body through perimenopause.

“I’m picking up where I left off,” she wrote, adding that she loves hearing from others who are also working toward better health. She views sharing her progress as a way to stay motivated.

Her post received more than 1,200 likes along with messages of support. Hits Radio presenter Gemma Atkinson encouraged her with: “Persistence over perfection every day!”

A Mother, Advocate, and Inspiration

Norton’s fans have long admired her openness, not only about her fitness journey but also about her family’s reality. Her two children, Jesse and Ronnie, live with Usher syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects hearing and vision. Norton has since become an active supporter of Cure Usher Syndrome, helping raise awareness and funds for research.

As she steps into this new phase of her health, Norton says two words will guide her:
“Accountability and results.”
