Jai Courtney Joins Yellowstone’s Beth & Rip Spinoff: New Rivalries and Family Battles Await

The Yellowstone universe continues to expand — and the next chapter centers on one of the franchise’s most beloved couples, Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler. Their upcoming spinoff, The Dutton Ranch, has just added a major name to its cast. Jai Courtney, best known for roles in Suicide Squad and The Terminal List, has officially joined the series, promising more grit, chaos, and power struggles for Beth and Rip to face.

Jai Courtney Takes On a Dangerous Role

According to Variety, Courtney will step into the role of Rob-Will, described as “an imposing, unpredictable ranch foreman.” If Yellowstone fans know anything, it’s that foremen rarely bring peace to the ranch — and Courtney’s new character sounds tailor-made to stir trouble.

Courtney joins an already stacked cast. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser are back as Beth and Rip, while Finn Little reprises his role as their “adopted” son Carter. The series also brings in Hollywood heavyweights Annette Bening and Ed Harris, both of whom will add fresh tension and gravitas to this new saga.

The Dutton Ranch: What We Know So Far

The spinoff is set to follow Beth and Rip as they fight to protect their newly established 7,000-acre ranch. The official description hints at survival being a daily battle:

“With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”

This isn’t just about cattle and land; it’s about legacy, family, and the lengths the Duttons will go to secure their future. And if Beth and Rip’s Yellowstone journey is anything to go by, fans can expect no shortage of betrayal, bloodshed, and brutal showdowns.

Annette Bening and Ed Harris Bring Power and Heart

The casting of Annette Bening adds even more intrigue. She plays Beulah Jackson, the cunning and powerful head of a major Texas ranch. This strongly suggests the series may shift away from Montana, setting the stage for new landscapes, new rivalries, and new enemies.

Ed Harris also joins as Everett McKinney, a compassionate yet battle-worn veterinarian. With his mix of humor and wisdom, Harris’ character could serve as a rare voice of calm in an otherwise volatile world.

Taylor Sheridan Hands Over the Reins

While Taylor Sheridan built the Yellowstone empire, The Dutton Ranch won’t be penned by him directly. Instead, Chad Feehan (Lawmen: Bass Reeves) takes over as showrunner. Sheridan remains an executive producer, ensuring the spinoff stays true to Yellowstone’s spirit, but Feehan’s involvement signals a slightly new direction.

Cole Hauser teased in a recent interview that fans can expect “the same grit and passion” that made Yellowstone such a powerhouse, even if familiar faces from the main series don’t all return. In fact, Hauser admitted that not having Yellowstone’s full cast around feels “strange,” but insisted that this new show will focus deeply on Beth and Rip’s marriage and survival together.

Where and When Can Fans Watch?

The Beth and Rip spinoff is set to stream exclusively on Paramount+, following the platform’s strategy with other Yellowstone offshoots like 1883 and 1923. A premiere date hasn’t yet been announced, but production updates suggest fans won’t have to wait too long.

Meanwhile, other Yellowstone projects remain in the works, including The Madison with Michelle Pfeiffer and a procedural spinoff, Y: Marshals, starring Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton, set for CBS in 2026.

What This Means for Yellowstone Fans

With Beth and Rip now at the center of their own story, The Dutton Ranch looks set to be one of the most character-driven and emotionally raw chapters yet. Their relationship has always been a cornerstone of the franchise, and this spinoff gives them space to shine — while introducing new enemies like Courtney’s Rob-Will and Bening’s Beulah Jackson.

Will Beth and Rip’s hard-won peace survive these fresh challenges? Or will The Dutton Ranch prove that even legends of Yellowstone can be brought to their knees?

One thing’s for sure: when Beth Dutton’s involved, peace never lasts long.
